FlyChicaga,

There's one option you didn't consider....

...ATA gets a boat load of 717s, reworks their route structure, and finds no need for any regional flying, especially a 34 seat turboprop with a payload shortfall.....

Just theorizing.

Yup. I figured on that one, but I'm trying to stay optimistic... :D

PLEASE DONT SAY THAT OR I'LL DROWN IN THIS POOL FOREVER!!

It's ok man, hang in there. I'm not getting all too worked up about things, because whatever the solution I don't think we'll all get released into the world of unemployment for some time. I just want to see things improve, not go south. There IS movement here though, so I'd expect maybe a class in July or August. We have about 5 captains leaving in the next month or so, and had a few FOs leave as well. Note: They all didn't move laterally... many moved up. That means we might need some pilots come late summer. Who knows, we might need lots of pilots come fall depending on the ATA situation. If they skim a bunch of our captains off the top, you could be sitting pretty halfway up (or more) the FO list by this time 2005.

Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn't get you anywhere. There is a lot of worry and speculation, but we won't really know what is going on until announcements are made. D*mn this ADD, I want to know now!!
