Island airways is set on pilots for the winter. Last I heard there would be no hiring until summer.

Some of the best flying I ever did was out of North Michigan. There are many time that I wish I were back up there. As for your buddy, if he likes what he’s doing, let him be. You don’t have to fly “Big Iron” to be happy flying. When he’s ready to move on, he’ll tell you. If I had gone to Continental Express like my friend wanted me to do, I would have been bounce out on the street after 9/11 like many of the furloughs who walked in looking for a job.

He could also look into North Country, they fly out of Gaylord, 310's, 421's and a King Air.
