From a bombardier press release:

*******
http://www.bombardier.com/en/corpor...press-releases/details?docID=0901260d80158f0a

"January 27, 2011 — Montréal
Aerospace
Bombardier Aerospace today announced it has received firm orders from an undisclosed customer for two Challenger and six Global jets. The transaction is valued at approximately $383 million US based on the 2010 list price for typically equipped aircraft."
***********

So, the question is, who are these planes for? Got to be a fractional right? A fractional with a lot of money laying around for down payments right?

I'm guessing not Flexjet, which is a shame, and also a bit scary.

When are people going to stop believing press releases from any manufacturer or fractional company? Over the past 5 years, if you had believed the press release, the manufacturers would be booked up thru 2030...NetJets would have 5,000 a/c and XOJet would have at least 100 airplanes, rather than less than 25. Nobody keeps track of the cancellations.

They have mindless gnomes in PR and they have to justify their miserable existences anytime there seems to be a lull in the chatter about them. Anybody can make this stuff up and not worry about it because we won't remember it.

This crap is just that...it means nothing. They should only make these type of announcement when they delivery the a/c.

I'm fairly certain it's not XOJET. My guess is maybe Vista or possibly Qatar. Could be any number of other foreign operators though. In any case, it's a good sign for all of us.

China and ME are booming, so my guess is one of those. A US operator - sadly, I highly doubt it.

If you have time on type they may consider you but I guess NJ does not operate bombardier product? Not exactly sure about NJ Europe.

Thats old news. Expect to hear new News sometime in the future. You might be surprised at what the new News is!

Are they going to give preferential consideration to the furloughed NJ guys at NJ China?

I would imagine these bids would go to pilots on the active seniority list, assuming it's a NJA product and not something like NJME. Of course, that would open the door to recalls on the home front. BTW, a Global does indeed fit in the existing hangars at Bridgeway.

It's NJA. I know what i'm talking aboute.

Guess Bombardier got tired of Flexjet not buying airplanes from them. Seems like the might have decided it is time to start selling to whoever wants to buy them. Its pretty sad we cant even get one Global on property in 15 years.

I doubt it's NJ because they're trying to streamline the fleet. The purchase of the Phoem 300 was choosen as a replacement equipment. I don't see the Global's replacing the G series. I'm also betting the that NJ China aircraft will be flown by chinese pilots.

Most likely a foriegn buyer.

You dont see things well then.

When the GV and Global are parked nose to nose in the Hangar at NJA, the Global looks bigger.

I think you are right about the China operation.

The Phenom replaces 4 light jets-Ultra, HS 400XP, Encore, and Encore+. A Challenger 300 might replace both the G200 and Falcon 2000. A Global could replace all Gulfstream products (NJA has 4 different G models). Supposedly cheaper than the G 650 too. Seems like a significant step towards streamlining to me. Besides, what a shot at RTS this would be changing direction away from Gulfstream to Bombardier.

Possible fleet make up: EMB 300, XLS, CE 680, CE 750/TEN, Challenger 300, Global. Beechcraft goes way completely. Six types and three OEMs. Definitely streamlined compared to present fleet/OEM composition. And who knows what the future brings with Embraer.

If NJA has any role in China, NJA pilots will make up a significant portion. Scope clause will apply. Then again, a NJME, NJE, EJM type of set up may be possible. I'm not well versed on that issue, and I'll not waste time with that one till we are faced with that problem.

I don't think scope will be the reason for non-Chinese pilots. Training and image will prevail. Do you really think rich owners would accept pilots from China? Not for a while anyway.

There's a precedent for this. NJE was intially manned with pilots from the US. Maybe not all, but NJ will need to establish their corporate culture in China and they will need NJ pilots for that. I really don't expect this to trigger any recalls based on what they're saying about staffing right now. Unfortunately.

How many US pilots were used to start NJME?

If you think the Chinese government is going to let US pilots come over, and fly around Chinese businessmen, in Chinese airspace...... I think you have never done business in China before.

Culture will be established by management alone would be my bet.
