Just wondering is there anything in the FDX FOM that says you can read non aviation/company related material in the cockpit? Domestic versus international flight? Thanks trying to settle a bet.

If you want PM me with the section/page number.

Jiminy Christmas! What else are you going to do on a 12-hour flight in the dark? Study your limitations?

I'm actually not sure if there is anything in the F.A.R.s or our
manual forbidding reading (I know, I should get on the ball and
find out, LoL), but as a Captain, I discourage reading non-
aviation stuff on flights. There's too much to keep track of and
watch out for. I'd rather see a non-flying pilot snooze, at least
he/she's getting rest

You must be a joy to fly with.

If you fly with Captain Oveur just make sure that whatever you are reading does not stick out over the top of the FAR/AIMS it is nestled into.
