What is up lately with crew scheduling creating all of those EWR pairings, you know, 4 day trips, DH to EWR go to Europe and DH back from EWR day 4.

This is getting ridiculous, if I wanted EWR trips I would bid EWR.

Also, I am tired of flying on all of my reserve days. Unless you are 50-60% in base the schedules suck. I am thinking of bidding IAH 737 FO and enjoy 40-50%....

Any ideas?

Is there anything the union can do about these EWR trips being created in IAH?

Get used to it. Just going to be worse with the new system bid boosting your numbers at EWR's expense.

This is the most screwed up mgmt decision I've seen in a while.

You're such a tool. Honestly, why do you seek attention on an anonymous message board? What does that say about you? If you wanted answers, you'd be on Calforums. You need a girlfriend, hobby or something...........

All of the redeyes are annoying too on the IAH 756 schedules. Every 4 days I have done recently had one in it somewhere.

On a serious note, I am considering the 737 in IAH. What would all you do?

I'll take your job anytime, try being furloughed with no one hiring. I'd rather sit reserve in EWR in that cockroach infested Holiday Inn with a Prison for a view than be like this. Quit complaining.

Oh, and by the way instead of complaining on FI, don't you have a scheduling rep that you can call directly to ask/voice concerns. I sound bitter, 'cause I am.

SFR, your humor is quite twisted, but you seem to get quite the response from it. Guess I'd keep it up too, until it got boring.

In any event, you'll still be going through EWR all the time if you bid the 73, but my guess your seniority would be around 50% (based on you being reserve on the 75 in IAH). Probably could hold something better than what you have now, but the workload might be higher when you do work (3 legs a day, etc). I switched from the 75 and haven't looked back. I was sick of the redeyes to europe. From my perspective, the 73 is much more productive, which means more days off than the 75. Your mileage will vary.

Might as well take advantage of the huge shift from EWR to IAH. At my expense of course, but it is what it is.

I would continue to feast on the LUCRATIVE real estate market in Southeast Tejas! I mean come on have you seen how nice the community is out at The Woodlands. All the golf courses and steak houses one could ever want in life. Anybody with a speck of your talent could sell that goldmine to the many rich folk looking to relocate to exciting Houston! It's obvious you should take a leave of absence and focus every bit of energy on becoming a mini mogul in scenic Southeast Texas.

This little job that some of your colleagues call a 'career' will always be here. And since you already live in THE growing base (unlike those fools that bought a house within 3 hours drive of EWR), you know you will never be forced to commute hub-hub. So take a breather and build your empire for a few years. Next thing you know you'll be senior enough to bid reserve IAH 777 FO! No EWR DH's for that elite crowd!

If you go the 73 you are going to have to fly and overnight in EWR way too much. Sorry it works this way, but the fine boys in Flight Ops think this is for the best. Just remember if you get tired of some rat hole hotel in Elizabeth (the exact opposite of Conroe) to keep your persepective positive. After all Big Boss Fred said putting up IAH crews in EWR hotels to cover EWR flying is a minimal cost problem. Aye, Aye Captain Fredrick!!!

They have some really good BB games around dinner, if you have someone good with you, some beer and betting makes it fun

Actually, you are correct, the real estate market here is good. I listed another bank property on Thursday and had a full price offer Friday, it is crazy.

Jut got another bank listing in Spring, TX. It last sold for 1.4 mil in 2006, but I think it is only worth 600k or so, probably was a loan fraud deal back then.

Anyways, I like the EWR overnight, it is actually a good hotel. I don't like the Atlantic crossings at all!!! I hate the jet lag and being that far from home I guess.

Crybaby. CAL is awesome, deal with it.

Actually, it is great. I was trying to complain on here to see if I can move the bid.

Good luck all...I am hoping for 90%
