Consider this, as the regionals continuing to add these 130+ passenger airliners to their roster, the capacity has to be coming out of the system somewhere. Once again , trading Major airline career/ pay for a regional airline life, as a result, there will be less hiring at some major airline, and more lifers at the regional airlines.

That's not good. I have too many friends at regionals who have had the rug pulled out from under their career more than once because of this.

Delta just announced a huge profit so it might be them. Continental and United have other issues to deal with right now than to deal with a new fleet type. US Airways-I would not think they are financially capible to be the launch customer. Ahh heck, I do not know, its probably Republic for their new airline they are creating.

Oh and as for trans states-that rumor. that would be an awesome way to get out of scope-call it code share and they are "good".

I hope ALPA is ready for this

Another plastic piece of sh!t. When we were kids, Tonka built their toys from steel. I guess Tonka is making its way into the Airplane business.

They're gonna announce a two year delay because they just found some design flaw that causes the wings to spontaneously fall off if someone farts too vigorously in the forward lav. Just my guess.

Trans States has firm orders for 50 aircraft and options for 50 more, says Mitsubishi.

That's not entirely true. TSH has an LOI(letter of intent) to do the above.

Wikkipedia: LOIs resemble written contracts, but are usually not binding on the parties in their entirety. Many LOIs, however, contain provisions that are binding, such as non-disclosure agreements, a covenant to negotiate in good faith, or a "stand-still" or "no-shop" provision promising exclusive rights to negotiate. A LOI may also be interpreted as binding the parties if it too closely resembles a formal contract.

And if you think about it, it makes sense. Why would a podunk regional purchase 50+ MRJs with no flying for them? Are they going to open up a new lcc and call it Jets Blues Airways?

True dat but they figure this is a fleet replacement aircraft order, not a growth order for additional flying. In theory they do have flying for them with the wiggle room to adapt the configuration to meet scope or pull a Brian Bedford.

"TSH vice-president of scheduling Fred Oxley told Flightglobal earlier this month that the first quarter of 2014 is the target to allow the MRJs to replace aircraft operating under existing capacity purchase agreements between regionals and US majors."

They're talking about industry, not company airplanes. They expect 100+ seaters to be flown by regionals by 2014.

Hope it's Skywest! Somebody needs to help put the new United's 'Classic' Guppies into the desert just as they did at old United. And after all upgrade is pushing well past 3 years for those guys!

Who are you kidding? Chipaway has the answer, messa 50 seaters parked in the desert, he don't need no stinking "C" series, his secret profit source is removing all the employee benefits, al la Mesa. Him and JO play golf in Pebble Beach regularly, Chipaway will routinely bet 1000s against JO, he laughs when he knocks one into the rough, stating "what do I care, its just a CAT scan for some crummy pilots sick baby, wanna double or nothing?" Skywest has peaked, chipaway couldn't get a hand job in Vegas, with a fist full of hundies.
We are all skrewed.
PBR

With the fact that the CASM is to be that of a 787, it will be really hard for any airline exec to sell this sale to the "National" airlines. They may but, with that casm it should be the at mainline.
