Is the "suggestion" in any way like the "recommended" items in the AIM?

I would not want to be the one to test those waters. It all makes perfect sense until some lawyer gets involved looking to cash in.

The answer is no, you don't need a backup Part 91. Suggested, recommended, they aren't the same as required. Our FSDO as never asked if we have backup charts to our EFB.

You guys can fly with no back-up if you like. I like having the peice of mind of a back-up. My server has locked up a number of times, then out comes the EFB.
It just makes good sense.
