I'm no expert on the facts of the case, but has he been convicted?

Wrists and a toe kinda sounds like she might have been then one throwing punches and kicking.

I've seen a few cases now where female prosecutors have brought battery cases against men when evidence, objective evidence like video tape, shows the woman was the one bringing the fight. Give a under-performer a law degree and they can become a assistant prosecutor (the lowest rank in the lawyering profession).

I'll just say that with some of the female prosecutors that I've seen, I DO NOT consider them alone to be a credible source - they are advocates for the prosecution, that's their job. We should take a Pilot and an Officer's version of the story as at least an equal account and look to objective evidence tip the balance.

We know nothing about this case and should not judge another unless we know what happened. Pray for the whole family ... what a mess.

Good point Fins. Let's say this guy is found innocent or not guilty (whatever the legal term is). How many of you are going to look at this guy differently now in the crewroom? The incident will atleast creap into your mind for a moment.

However, the article did not mention that the individual in question sustained any injury.

Maybe he did, but if not....It's fairly cut and dried as far as the law see's it.

Yes, he is innocent for now, but I think the case will be an easy one for the state from what I've heard. How did he pass this Delta psych test we hear so much about? I know some good pilots that have not passed that thing.

Anyone can get "prep" for psych evals.

Over fifteen years ago I was invited to interview at the Comair Academy in Florida. I took a psyche eval that was probably much the same as the one taken at Delta. For some reason a short time later I was escorted off campus by the sheriffs department.

As the saying goes, you don’t have to be crazy to work for Mesa…but it does help.

Suspect denied bond; prosecutor calls it 'worst case' of family violence she has seen
A Peachtree City woman suffered two broken wrists and a broken toe at the hands of her husband, who also raped her at the couple’s home in the Kedron Hills neighborhood Sunday, according to court documents in the case.
This afternoon Michael William Ellicott, 47, was denied bond on several criminal charges filed in the case.
Assistant District Attorney Lura Landis said this is the worst domestic violence case she has seen in her entire 32 year as an attorney. Landis said she has personally spoken to two members of the community who asked that Ellicott remain jailed without bond because they also were afraid of him.
Landis said neither of those people are related to the victim in the case, and they both will testify when a bond hearing is held in Superior Court on the rape charge.
Ellicott was denied bond in the case by Fayette County Magistrate Charles R. Floyd Jr. Only Superior Court judges are allowed to consider bond on violent charges such as rape.
The incident occurred over a period of time Sunday at the couple’s home, listed at 209 Portico Place, according to arrest warrants filed in the case.
Ellicott is charged with rape, three counts of aggravated battery (family violence), aggravated assault (family violence), false imprisonment (family violence) and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree. The cruelty to children charges are because the violence occurred in front of their two children, according to arrest warrants.
Ellicott’s attorney, Allen Turner, said his client has never been arrested before and argued that he is not a flight risk. Turner said he would be willing to surrender his client's passport.
Ellicott is a pilot at Delta Air Lines, and the company will be looking into the matter, a spokesperson said.
In addition to denying bond, Floyd ordered that Ellicott may not contact the victim nor any of her family members, even in a phone call from the jail.
Floyd said he would revisit the bond matter at a later date should Ellicott gain a bond on the rape charge from a Superior Court judge.
A company spokesperson noted that Ellicott is a first officer, which is the lowest rank of pilot at the company."

at CC Air years ago, we had a check airman who had stabbed and killed his relative of the female kind...

I was a first year FO and when he came up and sat near me in the jetstream, I kind of got the heebie jeebies.

imagine what hollywood would do, instead of Halloween, we'd have

There was a (obviously now former) Mesaba captain that actually was one of the stories on America's Most Wanted. They finally recently caught him a year or two ago in Central America I believe.

Give me a break. You think only pilots do these things? Do you really think the public gives a sh!t whether this guy is a pilot or not. 9 out of 10 people who read this article won't even remember his profession 10 minutes after they read it.

True...very true. Anybody ever watch Chris Hanson "To Catch a freak in the act" on MSNBC? Surgeons, Rabbis, Cops, military etc. You never really know.
