I wonder what that guy did to abuse those engines so badly? In August, it will be my 20th anniversary in aviation. In that time, I've only had one engine failure in a worn-out 182. First of all, I think this guy's story is BS, just because he didn't like the job. But if it's not, with such an unprecedented failure rate, I'd be inclined to think it was pilot technique.

Someone In The Majors Section Replied That They Knew Someone Who Had 4 Engine Failures In The Time He Worked There....may Be Complete (b.s) But If Thats True There Is Something Wrong....most People Can Go A Career These Days Without 1 More Less 4 In A Short Period.

I don't work for Kalitta, and I don't work for the NTSB either. So I'm going to keep my opinions to myself, rather than join in with the usual crowd that likes to dogpile on the pilot's involved... (automatically assuming with their wealth of knowledge and on site intel that it was probably a fellow aviator's fault).

Are you willing to come back, and dig up this thread weeks or months from now to apologize for your remark, if the fault lies elsewhere...?

Why don't we all just focus on what we can do for those involved in this tragedy, and let the investigators complete their investigation.

Has anyone been able to confirm that all 8 survived? I just heard from a buddy that 3 crew members did perish, but I consider this unconfirmed because I got the info second hand.

Best of luck to the crew. In the meantime, the FAA should investigate the entire Kalitta organization. Two lives lost, several serious injuries and the lost of two B747s should warrant some serious inquiry

I have been saying that for ages. Scavengers have no place in aviation business. Sooner or later it shows. Maybe now FAA will take a closer look to Connie's business. Terrorizing your employees, using used parts made new through your own aviation parts company, using old planes is not a fair way to do business. I know many of Kalitta's little pupies bailed out jail by Connie and with no other place to go will jump barking at me but "c'est la vie".
