Are they getting many apps from FLOPS and NJA pilots? Anyone crossing over to Avantair from the other fraxs?

Two Premiers on board now. They were delivered in March. Not doing much with them, as they are still awaiting Part 135 cert. Mostly just sit (one in PIE and the other in RNO) occassionally flying as a backup for the Avanti.

As far as future orders for them, have not heard anything lately, but possibly expect an announcement during the NBAA convention (SEP).

Constant training and hiring for the Avanti. Get one about every 4-6 weeks. Class size is about 6-8 pilots per class. Heard one-two classes per month. Their training program is somewhat srained now, as all training in done in the airplane until Flight Safety sim comes up late this year(?). Ground school and indoc done in West Palm at FSI. Then to PIE for flight training.

Yea,

They just don't like a "negitive, can't do" attitude! Someone had told me they had been to the office and they are working like mad! Regular people come in and just "pitch in" when they can with paperwork orginization and Jeppesen stuff.

Is Avantair hiring directly into the Premier?????

Old news, but the Premier is officially mentioned in news:

Avanti Fractional Operator Adds Premier Is[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
Breaking from its single-airplane fleet of Piaggio Avanti twin turboprops, Fairfield, N.J.-based fractional provider Avantair has added two new Beechcraft Premier I light jets as core airplanes. Avantair CEO Steven Santo told AIN that the jets were added since his company has been unable to add Avantis fast enough as core airplanes. There is a waiting list of share customers and the frax provider is taking virtually as many airplanes as Piaggio can currently produce (about two per month). Further, he said the Premier I is the only available light jet with a cabin that is somewhat comparable to that of the Italian-built turboprop. For now Avantair won’t sell shares in the light jets, though Santo added that this could change depending on customer opinion of the airplane. Avantair has 18 Avantis in its fleet and expects to take delivery of nine more by year-end. Avantair said it will have 185 share owners at month’s end, up sharply from October when the company announced its 100th share customer.

Got the call for an interview at Avantair.
Any info on types of questions, format?
Thanks
WP

Any thoughts or comments on the interview? How did it go? Update us if you can.

Good luck. :)

Interview went great! Made me feel very comfortable. The normal questions about your record (incidents, accidents), What you know about the company?, An overview of what the company has to offer and where they are heading (looks like straight up, 9 more airplanes this year).
Held at the Pemco hangar at PIE.
Overall a good experience.
They said they would be in touch

Did you interview for the P180 or Premier? PIC or SIC? If SIC, how long expected before upgrade to PIC? Any news about the cockpit upgrades in the current and new P180 aircraft?

Good luck - and let us know what happens...

Yeah, thanks...
