hi,
anybody got some gouge (flows, speeds, checklists...) for new hires flying the piaggio?
I hope to be in the Oct 31 class, anybody else got the news?

now back to your regularly scheduled NJA bashing

brewerdog,

I love it dude. You are so right. Every thread becomes a whining-netjets-pilot post at some point. I avoid the yellow ties at all costs in FBO's because I know what I'm going to hear...

Yellow ties or Gold ties?

Study the Aspen and Rifle approach and departure plates. Questions will be asked about climb grads, radio set up on the approach into Aspen, etc.

Be prepared to discuss your background. They like Part 135/fractional background. Some 121 guys on board.

Very low stress interview, a get to know you type thing. In a few months they may give you a sim session in PBI when the Piaggio sim comes up. So now you get to skip that. Interview probably in PIE or CDW. Depends on where you live.

Oveido,

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that brewerdog has already interviewed, and been hired. I believe he's asking about flows and such while he's waiting for a class date.

I think whats going on at nja is the best thing to happen to g.a. in a long time. I disagree with some of their tactics, such as same pay for all fleets, and retro pay, but their going to get something, that means the rest of us frac guys will get more. The frac life has now become a stepping stone job, when it should be a career job. Now back to your regulary scheduled program.

yes, the frac pac is a good place to get time and even stay long term

yes, flows and speeds and such info would be nice

Dont you learn those things at training? Flows speeds and such? Isnt that what training is for? Otherwise it would be home study!

Brewerdog,

Are you coming on as PIC? I've been in FL now for a bit more than 2 weeks. First week at Flightsafety, then over to PIE. PM me and I can give you some scoop. I can attest to the fact that for a turboprop this thing is a rocket!

ProLine 21 Equipped Avantis at Avantair?

I just saw a Piaggio ad with the Collins-equipped Avanti. Will Avantair be getting any of the upgraded cockpit versions themselves? What percentage of any new Avantis will be the upgraded version in the future?

Also, any recent news or rumors about more jet aircraft in the future (beyond the few Premier Jets already on the property)?

I agree flows and speeds are for training, but the AIM and parts 91 and 135 are good things to know before you get there ---Brewer

The Premiers (2) were turned back to Raytheon last week.

They were maint pigs for brand new aircraft, Raytheon Services was slow to respond to maint and parts. Mgmt got fed up and said take them back!

Skywest, Express Jet and Mesaba give out tons of checklist stuff, memory items, flows, cockpit posters . . . I don't see anything wrong with getting info up front

That's a good question - will Avantair be getting the Pro Line Collins-equipped Avantis in the future?

Actually thats a dumb question because the only Avanti now being made is the Avanti II which only comes equipped with the Collins Pro Line.

So, you are then telling me that all future Avantis at Avantair will be equipped with the new Pro Line equipment? Sorry, I didn't get the memo - hence the question.

How many more Avantis on order at Avantair and have any of the newer Avantis been delivered yet?

Yes all new Avantis that Avantair gets will be the Avanti II with the Collins Pro Line and more powerful engines, increased speed, higher usuable weight and so on and so forth.

Thanks. Certainly the Avanti is already a very capable aircraft, and the Pro Line will make it that much more enjoyable to fly.

The Avanti is very capable of making a sheet load of noise. Those spaghetti jets create quite a DB filled environment when flying over my dwelling.

I am in the process of writing a letter to whoever will listen to put hush kits on those P&W screamers.

Premiers back to Raytheon? Hahahahahah. NO surprise there. Get flying some real aircraft. Time to restart the King Air fractional. Now there's a capable aircraft.

Just my two danir's worth.

The Avanti ain't got nuttin on the Mitz when it comes to creating noise. Besides, who cares how loud it is outside. Inside is all that matters. All you need in that Avanti is the teeny Telexes

I don't think a hush kit could even be retrofitted on the Avanti because of the close proximity of the exhaust and props. Most of that woodchipper sound comes from the exhaust hitting the props, kinda like talking into a fan.
