Unity
Couple things to remember: There are 20-40 more Hawker 400XP's coming. There is only 1 vacation line per week, per crew for the 05'-06' bid. Very few PIC's and SIC's can hold the 7/7 right now. No one is trying to complain about our situation. We knew what we were getting ourselves into. Being that said, we are simply trying to improve the situation at our company.
OPERATION UNITY: 400XP NO-BID CAMPAIGN
Your fellow pilots need your help! Please take a few moments to read about our efforts, and help spread the word throughout the pilot group. With unity we can achieve great things!
BACKGROUND: Last year a grassroots campaign was successful in securing a junior bid in the 400XP, which resulted in over 100 of our fellow pilots achieving bypass pay. Through the dedicated effort of dozens of volunteers and the selfless generosity of senior bidders who waived their right to bid these positions, over 100 families now enjoy a living wage and a resounding message of unity and resolve was sent to the company. We have an excellent opportunity to build upon this achievement and demonstrate once again that this pilot group will not be divided.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP: Given the company's stubborn refusal to bring a serious contract proposal to the table and its demonstrated willingness to draw out negotiations as long as possible, this is one of the few tools we have at our disposal to apply leverage in a productive and meaningful way. Make no mistake about it----the company does NOT want this effort to succeed. On a more fundamental level, this is the only hope to achieve a living wage for a significant portion of the seniority list. Our pilots are the best and hardest-working in the industry and the fact that many are paid less than $28K per year is downright shameful.
THE PLAN: There is a bid for (4) 400XP captains which closes on February 25th, and with the help of our fellow pilots, we hope to secure at least one of these bids for a junior FO in the 400XP. We have identified two junior bidders who are willing to bid the positions and are capable of completing the training. If successful, this operation will achieve bypass pay for approximately 110 pilots and their families. Within the next week, dozens of volunteers will begin an intense phone-tree campaign to contact all pilots who may have bid, or may be considering bidding one of these positions. Our objective is to identify the senior bidders for these positions and lobby for their support and assistance in allowing this bid to go junior. We recognize and appreciate that this is a huge sacrifice on the part of senior pilots who wish to bid these positions and we do not take that sacrifice lightly. Your generosity and solidarity will not be forgotten by your fellow pilots.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: First and foremost, please spread the word to other NetJets pilots you meet on the road. We intend to personally contact every likely bidder for the 400XP, but the more pilots who are aware of this operation, the better our odds of success. Secondly, please help us by verifying and updating your contact information on the NJASAP website. We intend to scrupulously avoid using company time and resources (for example, pagers) for this campaign, so accurate phone and email contacts are vital. Last but certainly not least, please consider holding off on this bid, or retracting your bid if you have already submitted one. You will not only be helping out a large number of your fellow pilots, but also demonstrating the type of unity and teamwork that will ultimately win us the contract we deserve.
THANK-YOU! WE SINCERELY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!
