F&B sorry to hear you might be on the street. hopefully that never happens. I didn't know you flew the 400

I'm proud to say I'm NOT a United guy, yet I have no Jet PIC. Somehow I managed to pick up a few thousand hours of T-Prop PIC and lots of SIC heavy jet time including a type and time in the 400.
I guess that makes a guy flying an RJ more qualified than me, but I'm the one soon to be on the street from the last job I'll ever have.

I don't have Jet PIC time either but have time in the LCF. Hope that somehow make me qualified.

Hi!

If U want a bit of info on the latest, pm me.

Ok, as much as I'd like to be a fountain of positive thinking...I'm going to try to temper it with a sliver of reality...

If there are 29 on furlough and there are only 30 slots (give or take a couple) available at present...I'm assuming Atlas wants to interview to build a pool for future slots since they seem to have all they need (and will have gone through all available bodies) for the present openings?? Maybe I'm a bit slow on the uptake but this just occurred to me today. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy as a clam to be a part of the new pool, it just seems everyone is talking like we may be in a class in a week or so. Unless y'all know something I don't... Am I missing something? Please tell me I am.

It looks like, for the time being, they will run a -400 class every three weeks. A 16 Apr. class is set up with transition guys, from the classic. These are guys that need the whole 7 weeks of training. If they did some interviews during the first week of April, then got them into indoc on the second week, then they could be added to the 16 Apr. class. That would be the best case scenario. In the past, they have offered classes to guys that interviewed on Thursday, to start on the next Monday.

As I've said elsewhere, the latest base bid shows 16 slots available for new hires. Seven in HSV, and 9 in JFK.

Any of you that may not seem to qualify over this turbine-prop vs. turbine jet req. you can always apply to "Connie", we may be hiring this year and do not have this requirement I believe.

As long as a base doesn't show up near Missoula, MT I am in good shape!
Gawd... I was there last night on a DL layover and always LOVE it! Im a BOI commuter and love the IM West! Though, I realize, I need a real job like Atlas to maximize my time in the IM West.....Please call, Ive been trying since 2006!!!!!

I'm guessing they're holding firm on the minimums? I'm one of those NJA furloughed types that got hired there with no turbine PIC. Seems like a made a bad move.

It is VERY competetive right now. I am also on the street, I have around 3000 Turbojet pic and Heavy Jet International Time, and I have not been able to find anything either my friend. I am a dime a dozen right now. Good Luck

Hopefully with your numbers you'll get something soon. Best of luck!

2000 hours widebody left seat, including more than 500 hours in the left seat of the 747. Currently flying left seat in a widebody. Two internal recs at Atlas, including one "management" sort. No call for an interview so far.

From what I have heard, the calls only went out to the guys from the canceled Sep '08 class and some poolies.

Any of those guys here willing to confirm or deny?

Nothing firm, just from a collection of bits and pieces. The guys handling the resumes are no longer in MIA.

From what I understand, not all of the people in the cancelled class have been called. I don't think they called very many. On the plus side, it could mean there will still be more slots coming soon...who knows. I think the best thing at this point is to remain positive and be patient.
