Aren't you code sharing with AT until SOC? They are cheaper thanks to your culture busting 2nd offer, and they are the ones that seem to know how to fly to those international destinations. Good luck with USair II.

Godspeed!

Alright, I'll bite. OYS, do you work for Delta or Airtran? The implication is Delta, but another Airtran dude said you were really a Airtran pilot. What gives? How about a little honesty. Is that too much to ask?

Sorry dude, but while I agree some of the SWA folks on here have made the UAL guys of the late 90's look humble, you and Fubi have stooped to the level of Sascha/flyvixen.

Sorry

Oh the horror! Compared to Fubi and I work for an airline that according to you doesn't have what it takes to be a "World-Class International Airline"

Thanks, but I'll take highest paid and profitable every year airline and you can have your position reports, mediocre pay, and record losses every 3rd year......

I hope you didn't see bitching about the regionals in anything I said. The RJ pilot's are doing just as good a job as anyone else in this business. We are all paying the price for the greed, competitiveness and "warrior spirit" that has infected our profession. You guys are just doing the flying the Piedmont/Ozark/PSA/North Central/Frontier etc etc. use to do.

So was the "warrior spirit" comment another slam against SWA employees? So our loyalty to our company is supposed to be to blame for all that ailes the piloting profession? Really? This from a guy who used to work for "Peoples Express"? Just because you go to work and hate on your company and hate on your profession doesn't mean we all have to.

By the way, the original PSA, Piedmont and Frontier airlines were awesome places to work, and I doubt you found too many employees at those airlines who were just building time waiting to get hired at "Peoples Express". Your airline history revisionism and comparisons are laughable if not so sad....

I have more than 4000 posts, and they started well before the SWA/AT merger. I am not an AT pilot. I know a couple Airtran guys though, so I am interested in the outcome of your ISL and contract. That is an honest reply, not an AT pilot.

You are old as dirt. Who did you date way back when? Orville or Wilbur?

News flash dude, I thoroughly enjoy my job and so do most of my coworkers. You work for SWA and your bashing PEX? SWA is what PEX would have been had they had better management. A SWA guy bashing another LCC that didn't happen to make it is as bad the SWA guy who bashed a VA guy for working for low wages. Now that's laughable. That may go over your head too, but SWA established itself by having pilots work harder for much less pay, far enough, that's called competition. Just don't call out people doing what you did.

Simple fact is SWA no longer has the cost advantage it once had ( lower salaries than it's peers, paying less for fuel, and less head to head competition with higher cost airlines). You do have the one of the best corporate cultures in the industry.

WN still has a HUGE cost advantage - if they can keep it. They've only lost SOME of their advantage with fuel hedging and higher pilot wages. All factors being equal (labor cost, fuel, etc.) a company of happy people, with their fingers directly on the "efficiency and performance knobs" will kick the crap out of a company whose people don't give a damn anymore.

Unfortunately, most MBAs will never grasp that concept.

Did anyone see the USA TODAY article and graph today that showed how the majority of the flights at these two MAJOR airports are flown by regional jets!!!

Wow!! I wonder how whatever LEGACY that was allowed that to happen!!

Anyone know anything about this?

When the majority of those regional flights consists of going back and forth within 300nm of ATL 10 times a day(per aircraft not crew) of course the regionals are going to have more FLIGHTS. BLOCK HOUR-wise DAL mainline dominates ATL and MSP
