That letter ooooozed desparation. It reminded me a lot of Kevin Bacon's character in Animal House: "Remain calm, all is well!!..."

yes sir, I was kidding. But I do disagree with the mentality of that letter. To sight one, I do not know of any carrier that has a 1st year Capt. At least one that uses RJ's for primary means of pax transport.

In response to everything on here, I really hope that SKYW votes it in. Strictly on the fact that despite how you feel about unions, they almost always are, or eventually become necessary in this biz. I volunteer with ALPA at ASA. I am honored to help pilot group like ours in any way I can. All that I can tell the SKYW pilots is; look at the facts from both sides objectively. Vote regardless if you go "yes" or "no". A great deal of my friends are at SKYW in Chicago, I am sure we all have friends at either company. I wish us all the best, and minimal stress in our careers.

actually, we here at ASA have had several 1st year Captains. Back in '98ish, there were several pilots hired off the street as Captains.
