ASA union looses Continental flying?

I was told that XJET is doing the DAL flying completely at risk because they needed to put the AC somewhere. their hope is that when their 2 year contract comes up that DAL will be pleased with them and re-up.

is this true?

I predict SkyWest will have a larger presence in LAX in late 2008/early 2009 flying for both DAL and UEX with perhaps a larger crew domicile there.
 
The exclusivity UAL had SkyWest under at LAX has now been lifted. Expect SkyWest to grow a Delta presence in LAX and XJT to slowly be let go.
 
They negotiated quite a bit better with representation than what they would have been given without it.
NOWAY did they get a bit better then what they wanted! WAKE UP, alpo does nothing. THey maid a void for themselves and convinced you they should be there..........

From your post, I can infer that you lack a formal education. ALPA is not an organization that performs tasks. ALPA is an organization that helps you perform tasks. There is no PFM involved. Without participation, a union is meaningless. It takes each individual pilot's voice to create a strong union.

Obviously pilots have not recieved what they want. Typically everybody wants more than what they have. You only get what you negotiate. Some pilot groups have more unity and stronger leadership which enable them to negotiate more favorable contracts. ALPA national doesn't create individual pilot unity. That has to come from within.

ALPA would much stronger if there was some "brand scope"..... we shouldn't be bidding against one another..... We need more than "individual pilot unity".... we need to put the "collective" back into the "collective bargaining"..... Until then, most of you will be disappointed...

So Speedtape, we finally agree on something..... What are we going to do about it at ASA ALPA? Are we going to continue to pretend that the problem doesn't exist so as to put forth some image of ALPA that doesn't exist? Are we going to return to the ASA and CMR ALPA positions of 1999? Are we going to rock the ALPA boat, or are we going to continue to treat this like a problem that doesn't really exist.....???

Your reading comprehension is not "thebest".

I never said they got better than what they wanted - only that they got better with representation than they would have gotten without it.

Its better to negotiate than be dictated to...
