You seem to know everything about everything and you have it all figured it out....

As evidenced by my coming to you asking for clarification and for an explanation of whatever it is I'm missing...right?

I don't get it...what's the point of a labor contract if one party can arbitrarily violate it at will?

First I didnt say I agreed with the facts just letting you know what they are.

We have something called the Railway Labor Act, which I hope you are familiar with. Yes, it is outdated and in major need of update. Good luck with that...

The RLA prevents labor from applying self help on a whim, so that in this case the airline can continue to do biz without the threat of harming national transportation.

Other Unions are not hamstrung like this, as we are seeing in WI and the teachers.

So, this goes back to expecting our Union leadership to stand up for us, and push for change, or grieve it.

Rule of law still applies in this country, even when it goes against you. The proper way to fix this is through the process even when it sucks.

And therein lies the rub. Georgia labor laws and the RLA HEAVILY favor management. Bottom line is you do what your employer tells you to do as long as it isn't unlawful. Contract? Ha! Grieve it. Mediate it. Arbitrate it. Company doesn't care. They know it's a time consuming process and that most people will just give up.

Did any XJTers go to the town hall meetings? What were the talking points? The ATL crew lounge and MX breakroom meeting were cancelled with no word of a reschedule..... Guess that gives some of these guys longer to sharpen their pitchforks.

Go add to the pile on of BH's weekly update in the comments section of the company website.

He needs to know how discouraged his employees really are.

I didn't but I did listen to his BH's conference call. Message was basically, we like to communicate with you and be upfront, we need to get costs inline, yes we are poorly staffed and crew scheduling doesn't have the tools to do their jobs efficiently and we need to get costs inline but we are hiring/upgrading and we need to get costs inline. No one department is solely to blame but it is leaderships fault and we have a super plan to fix everything because we feel your pain and we need to get costs inline. But you have to work with us cause we are on probation with unical and anything you can do will help and we need to get costs inline. Thank you for all you do.

Agreed

Wonder what the deal is with the postponement?

Refining talking points perhaps? Maybe they realized the backlash if they start talking about cuts or "de-hancements"

Postponement is probably until the April pairings come out on the 10th. They'll be a little better, and we'll have a little less to bitch about.

From both Scott Hall in recurrent and the Union.....April pairings won't be any better, and might actually be a bit worse.
