I had to post this for two reasons because one, this is so ridiculous it sounds like a nice conspiracy and two, if this is true, Comair will be incurring mass furloughs soon. So here it is. Sitting in Atlanta today minding my own business, an ASA captain decides to strike up a conversation. How are things up there, blah blah. He proceeds to tell us (with a very smug face I might add), that ASA will be taking 7 Comair aircraft a month for the foreseeable future. Because ASA has the manpower and Comair can't even cover the little flying Delta still throws at them. I said oh that's nice guess I"ll get my resume out again, where he proceeded to preach about what a great move it was for him to go to ASA instead of Comair. I didn't hear the rest because I got up and left.

So I plead for caution ASA guys, I know this guy is a tool, we have them too, I am not implying that any of you are happy over news like this, but man the audacity and smugness was palpable. Anyway I figure if this is true, Comair has a little over a year before all aircraft are transferred to ASA. Nothing like gloom and doom when mighty management says they are "anticipating modest growth". HAHA. Discuss.

There are punks out there. Ignore them and let karma (or Chuck D.) run its course.

Everybody should have something in their back pocket...

This is that ten percent, fu_ken ignore them and your medicals will go much better.
There is no way a line guy will know something, no matter what he says, before the press release!

Every Airline has its "Village Idiot"..or maybe two

ASA will be getting airplanes (NOT ComAir's), ComAir will be GETTING airplanes... just watch and see, give it till January.

That being said, ALWAYS have something in your back pocket, stress less, plan a little more, concentrate on LIVING your life, not your airline's life.

Wow, how inspiring.

Spud is actually giving you same real good advice. Always have a backup plan. I am getting certified in Heating and Airconditioning.

guy gives you some real advice and you just can't help being a d**che bag.

Yeah, that was some great advice. Here are a few other gems you've probably never heard before;

Save your money for a rainy day!

The early bird gets the worm!

Live and learn!

Keep your chin up!

Short pleasures are often long repeated!

That's the way the ball bounces!

There, did I enhance your day? Are you wiser for taking my advice? It's 'real' advice, hope it helps.

I think I heard everyone of those on my last four day. What a long four day.

Yeah, could you imagine freedum guys voting with our senior guys we would work for free. They would all say the paycut will be made up with upgrade, and Soaper would be happy!

You wouldn't be referring to the Comair MEC's merger committee would you? Perhaps filing for single carrier status after the merger isn't a good idea. I know I don't want to be on the same list with the Compass pilots, they have unlimited flushbacks.

I'm guessing it was RP? Was he a pudgy dude with badly blond colored hair plugs?

I thought he went to Delta;)

Cheers- Rum

Uh, no. Incidentally, RP was hired by Comair as a pilot after his tenure at "The Academy" . He was allegedly fired during Ground School for falsifying his logbook, showing a significant amount of false Multi time. This was in an aircraft which he never set foot in and has never been in the state which RP claims to have flown in, all according to the owner of the aircraft during the investigation. Somehow he showed up at ASA. That's how he "never went to Comair".

This is the same RP who was known as "Rocky" at CAA, for he decided to hand prop a Seminole (mags off) on a cold FL morning to "get the oil moving". The engine "compressed" or "back compressed" (which ever you'd like), the prop spun backwards into his forehead, and knocked his butt out like Mike Tyson on a wife. He was found lying flat out on the ramp.

He has lots of stories at ASA, too. However, you'd probably publish it and make money off of me. It's that much humor.

Just thought I'd share a couple of RP stories.

1) While he was a highly decorated police officer, he was flying a helicopter on a police chase. As the suspect was fleeing on foot, RP hovered down over him, handed the controls over to his first officer, climbed out on the skid, and jumped down on the suspects back from 10 feet and that's how he messed up his knee.

2) Once while flying a Navajo transporting prisoners, one prisoner got a bit rowdy. RP climbed in the back, wrestled the prisoner down and helped to cuff him.....all while in flight.

I'm no where near creative enough to make this stuff up.....he just likes to tell these wild stories to his fo's.

How about him getting into a Mad dog in TUL and firing up the APU telling them he was a Delta pilot?
