ASA to displace again...

Not at all. They are not intentional in their ineptness. I'm just saying if ASA can't staff, Delta will right size us by parking the planes. They want to get rid of them, anyway. That would be their excuse. Problem is, there won't be this big staffing crisis if the Majors don't hire as many are expecting.

Lets not forget that Dellta owns about 40 CRJ200 aircraft operated by ASA. If the economy takes a huge dump, these will be parked fast.

I can see displacements from domicile, to domicile, but not from the left seat back to First Officer. We aren't going to find homes for the airframes- they're just going away.Our performance was so abysmal this summer, none of our partners wish to do any more business with us. We're losing pilots, and the company remembers the cash it actually cost them last time we had this scenario. No upgrades, but no real changes- reserves will still continue to be flown ragged.

Why doesn't Inc do pro-rate flying on the ASA side like they do on the Skywest side?

I just read the jetstream transcript by CT. There was two things that struck me as interesting:
"we have six CRJ200s that leave the schedule Jan. 1, 2012. We’ll have a displacement bid out for those crews the week of Oct. 10. I also "believe" we will have some vacancy bids for Dulles"
Believe? How does he not know for sure? Isn't he the dir of FLT OPS. Displacements/vacancies have big impacts on people lives. Shouldn't he care enough about his employees to know for sure.

Unforecast WX!? SO ASA/Expressjet can only operate and not colapse when the WX is forecast correctly. That happens all the time(sarcasim) I have no faith that these clowns can run an airline. And I can't beleive CT still has his job.

You must be fairly new to the industry. Delta has, on several occasions, asked many of its regionals to cover flying at the last minute. Would you rather they displace now so that you can 'plan' your busy schedule, or take it up to the bitter end as they try to secure flying for the 6 aircraft scheduled to the leave the system?

Would you rather they displace now so that you can 'plan' your busy schedule, or take it up to the bitter end as they try to secure flying for the 6 aircraft scheduled to the leave the system?

Fair enough. That made me laugh. It's just almost every other leg we're getting filed at F370 in a CR2 for legs less than 30 minutes, alternates halfway across the country when the weather is gorgeous, etc... I know there are pilots doing things just as dumb in their respective positions and it's attention to detail on everyone's part.
