anyone hear of this? any truth to this?

I keep hearing of ASA merging with another airline.. Anyone hear this one?

Something about changing the ASA name, etc...

No flame bait... just curious..

Heard it from multiple places. I guess SKYW is shopping a merger partner for us. I keep hearing about Compass. Weird...

Yep. Merging with Southwest. They will be stapled to the bottom of ASA's seniority list.

Man, you guys have to be out front on every issue. UAL/CO, merging well us at ASA can one up that. Do you guys on your days off go around in uniforms and tell anyone listening that you are a ASA pilots

A320s and A318s with all first class executive pleather seating, and of course, 240 minute ETOPS for the startup branded ops to Hawaii. The entire fleet will also be outfitted with a Joesph Smith relic in a lockbox in the forward galleys.

Flightinfo.com is a subsidiary of ASA. Whoever doesn't like that can suck salt.

We are "re-branding" the airline..who knows how much this is going to cost. New logos, possibly new wings etc.

seems this was only reasonable response...

I had heard they were looking at a potential merger/purchase of compass as well as a rebranding. I would welcome a new type on property as who knows where the UA/CO merger will take the scope restrictions. Could be a potential market there for 175/195 in the future.

we definitely need to grow to keep our costs low in comparison..

If you purchase CPS, you get the flow! It survives a acquisition. Might be how they opted to help you guys flow. Add to it they should have their own MEC by this fall.

Doubt it. Delta is doing all they can to resist that flow, and I, for one, don't want it anyway. "Flow" goes both ways, up and down...

Yep-

I don't see the ASA MEC going for that type of a flow-it ain't a good deal.

Why can't the reverse be true. what if Compass bought ASA? Rumors of Delta buying ASA back have circulated for years....

Starting in 2012 I think DAL retires 800 per year until 2018 or so. Flow would be a good thing.
