Can you provide a reference to this? I thought you had questioned me earlier for asking if ASA was losing money as if you know they aren't?

I believe it was referenced somewhere else that ASA made a profit of around .7% (which I think is low) I would imagine Skywest can cook the books to make it look like pretty much anything they want. ASA has to make 1% to get a tier of our performance bonus.

That's not a PBS thing. We have the ability to maximize days off in our line bidding system.

Oh and I maximized my vacation AND got trips that met my preferences. CA on 200 350 out of about 420. I work 8 days have 21 days off and am paid 87 hrs.

PBS is great. (Pairings suck)

I'm talking about a credible reference like a press release or SEC filing.

Again, not a PBS thing. I did that this month (84 hrs pay) with our line bidding system. And if all of a sudden I needed extra cash, I could have picked up a trip and have it go to add pay. One Flexibility point that your PBS doesnt offer if your below mmg.

And your relative seniority is much higher than mine. Ask the bottom 150 of your pilots how much time they get off and how much they credit. And the biggest thing is I also got the preferences in the trips that I wanted. Not just what was left over. Oh yeah and I improved on it further by swapping for a higher value trip that actually flies less legs from open time.

Nevets! Your system would work NO BETTER here! They would have the same low blocked pairings, and the only stuff left in open time is worse low block pairings. The only trips dropped back into open time for your LIW's would be MORE LOW BLOCKED PAIRINGS! (That nobody would want to or could swap for.) Then, every day would be red arrow, so even if you found one sweet trip to swap for YOU CANNOT!

This is coming to XJT when this whole mess is merged whether you switch to PBS or not! They will make life hell on line bidding, out of spite if needed. Even if they keep exactly your contract language, they will render it useless with their tricks and nonsense! Watch what you are fighting so hard to keep. You just might get it!

Exactly. This is why, at least in IMHO, we have to nail some of this down in the JCBA regarding pairing construction, etc. I really don't know what other chance we're going to have to make any definitive progress. What I do know for a fact is that we are not going to politely convince management to make any substantive changes at town hall meetings or whatever. Also, with the recent spate of MOUs brought to us my our MEC, the JCBA is something the membership will actually get to vote on.

Trip rigs! Min 20 hrs 4 days, 16 hrs 3 days, 12 hr two days, etc. That will force them to make productive trips.

As long as we're wishing for what we want...

- 12/13 min days off each month
- 200% premium for extensions
- 10 hrs min rest with 12 hrs after release in domicile
- RRR no more than 2x a month and never on consecutive days, 6hr credit for RRR
- Association has to approve pairing construction...require a mutually agreeable pairing construction solution
- 4 hrs pay for union duty...down from 6
- Union reps must fly each seat once a year, including a month of reserve
- Term limits for reps
- Much greater accountability/transparency of reps/MEC to pilot group
- No min day pay dock for fatigue calls
- 15 min credit on each end of a trip...pay for the bus ride to/from the parking lot. Duty time begins 15 min prior to duty in time to account for bus ride. (riding that bus on my own time really pisses me off)
- 14 hrs = long overnight for hotel requirements
- $2/hr per diem (things are more expensive on the road than they were in 2007)
- If dual qual, it's only for pilots who elect to participate.
- Pref bid for vacancy bid...ability to set up conditions (if it'll put me in the top half of the new seniority, bid x seat...if not, bid y seat)
- no more call to be released after a reserve assignment
- no more hats!

Amen, amen, amen and amen!

This will require the resolve of the pilot group to compel our union reps to demand these things. And to compel them to stand firm rather than back down so easily as they have done recently. Additionally as stated above by MaxQ, business as usual will probably not get it done.

110% agree they are getting way to much!!! We get crappy schedules and they get 6hrs of pay and a chunk of our paycheck and perf+ screw them!

johnpeace,

your wish list is really not out of line.

I agree with everything. I sent an almost identical list to our reps. I hope you have too. [email protected] It actually goes to both asa and xjet reps.

I also tried to explain why some of these issues are important and explained how we were being abused. I felt it was at least an opportunity for the xjet guys to learn about some of our issues. Surprisingly, I received a response back within about 15 mins...discussing some of the thing on my list. I felt like they at least read my list.

About the only thing I would change on your list is the alpa pay. I am actually okay with the alpa guys getting 6 hours....but only if I am getting 6 hours for each day of ground school, checkride, etc.

and I would like the alpa office moved to the crew lounge area. Maybe in that worthless workout room. I want to be able to see my reps. And when I am pissed and want someone there to address my issues, I want to be able to walk into an office and see my rep!
