DOT stats show dramatic improvement
ASA’s operations improved significantly in September as evidenced by the latest performance statistics released by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Overall, ASA reported on-time arrivals of 79.9 percent just below our goal of 80 percent, and on-time departure of 69.2, better than our internal goal of 68.2 percent.

When adjusted for weather and air traffic control, ASA’s September completion factor was 98.1 percent, above our internal goal of 98 percent.

Is it just me? I'm wondering who is doing the adjustments? ASA? Cause we go from crap to meeting our goals most every month. Doesn't matter how bad our performance is, it gets adjusted to meet the requirements for the DAL contract.

Yep! It is just you :smash:

Hey this is my 1000 post! Do I get prize???

I found one in an old stack of photos that I had taken on the ramp in DFW, and scanned it in to the computer, stretched it out, and reprinted it. Not *exactly* what I wanted, but it looks good in my TX-themed bathroom :)

When was it that we stopped calling times and the ramp/ops/whoever started noting them? I'd hazard to say that might have a bit to do with it.

does not matter, whatever is in the can rules

Not in the DOT performance. The can is for pay and maintenance, what ops or an agent puts in the sked. is what the DOT see's and what the agreement with delta is based on. So if they can blame ATC and the weather for all our poor performance and adjust the percentages the conditions never get better.

Yeah, I had something to that effect in my original post but I removed it before someone could find some reason to blame all the problems at ASA on my apathy about the situation.

Maybe, but First Officers would have to actually turn in the time sheets for that to happen.

Amen. How about also replacing the last fuel, load manifest and maintenance sheets you used?

Well, sure. 1 cream, 1 sugar.

How about bringing a new time sheet on the last leg of the night. Nothing better than getting to an airplane in the morning with "LAST PAGE" written in the comment section and no replacement on board.

Coffee from our airplanes? Have you seen what the potable water carts look like? When was the last time the water tanks were decontaminated in the aircraft? Could they pass an E-coli test?

Dudes....avoid the potable water at all costs!

Last trip, I had a ramper-sized booger floating in my coffee. I swear that thing had hair!

No actually, they failed an E-Coli test, as did most of the airplanes. It was in the newspaper and for a while the Flight Attendants seemed to all have opinions on which airplanes were safe....

I thought that pilot was offering to run up to Starbucks when he ran the log sheets in. After all, he was going in the terminal anyway and they don't have the Extra Dark Super Shakira Columbian Blend. Coffee, COFFEE, de prisa, ahora, no pasado mañana, AHORA!

Of course I am joking, but turning in the log sheets is part of the job. Just like having to check your mailbox. If you want more accurate times, you have to turn the things in.

Supposedly there are a dozen 70's equipped but they won't turn em on till more are installed. They say that'll be next spring. Won't hold my breath.

And if there's a way to get around something like acars pilots usually figure it out to their benifit.

;)Yeah...pull the circuit breaker! The performance will definately be on its way down with the initialization of ACARS! ASA will be back at the bottom! Can't Wait!
