CV lost my respect when he told me if I and other FO's keep losing checklist and asking for new ones that the company was going to go bankrupt.

He was dead serious. This was the week before DAL announced BK.
So that is what did it - W:OW. General Lee was right, it was our fault.

Here I thought it was horrible mismanagement, arrogance (it can't happen to us) and greed (thanks Michelle Burns & Leo) that did Delta in. I had no idea it was the paper used to print checklists. And I bet he was right, after all we had to revise the revised checklist several times. Must have been the straw....

That particular dog is all bark. I wouldn't lose any sleep over what that moron sees as reality. All you really have to do is stand up to him and he shows himself as the coward he really is. He trys to intimidate people, even when he knows he's wrong. All you have to do is call him on it and suggest getting some more people involved. Blucher:D

The gay CP you're referring to?

If MW or JA were told to discipline a pilot that they thought was unfair, they would have stood up to the boss. That's why they aren't CPs anymore.

True. Two who would fight for pilots. JA was alot of drama at times, but an excellent CP in my book.

coltsfan....you show up, fly your flight and go home. For those of us that did actual work prior to coming here, its not that bad. Are there issue that need to be worked out, certainly. Do we have 5 and 6 day trips? No. Do we have 18-20 duty days like some corporate outfits? No. Do we fly 134 and 1/2 bending rules? No. In every job, you're going to have jobs where people b*tch and moan. Most happen to vent here. This place could be better, and it could be much worse. Ask those folks that are getting screwed like mesaba. It could ALWAYS be worse.

Wow, I just asked if they were hiring and it turns into a three page bash the company thread. This place must really suck.

Well, I've had plenty of worse flying jobs before coming here. I've been around the block many times. ASA used to be a good company, but it's gone downhill since Delta bought us. Now this company isn't worth working for. Enter at your own risk, 1500 bit_hers can't be wrong. 300 happy kool-aid drinkers don't make this a good company.

So I guess the fact that the new contract didn't go over too well doesn't help us poolies get into class any earlier...

Not necessarily. Lots of F/os are leaving myself included. I think there will be a class soon

There is no new contract! We have been negoiating for 4+ years though. And now we're parked. The mediator won't release us to go out on strike. Go somewhere else, like Skywest.

I wouldn't think so. I'd be surprised if management didn't get rid of the 70s and furlough a few pilots just to teach us a lesson.

The CP actually told me that if I intended to call in sick on my off day I should have called crew scheduling ahead of time and told them I was sick.

Who was the CP that told you that? Not doubting you at all, I'm just really curious who would come out with such a ridiculous statement.

My guess is the one who is ASA's Gay Connection

You will enjoy that won't you? Full pay to the last day right????

Abso-frickin-lutely. Especially if it means layoffs of GO clowns like yourself. I can get a new job, can you? Burn baby, burn!

Sorry Johnny, not one of the GO clowns. You hardliners just want to shut this place down.

Uh yeah, I WILL shut this place down before I'll cave. My family deserves no less. Better jobs can be had. I will not work for less than I'm worth. And I believe the majority of ASA pilots agree, hmmmm ABOUT 92%!!!

Even if you don't work in the GO, you're still a GO clown, because you parrot everything management says.

Another highjacked thread. Why dont you guys who do nothing but b!tch start your own thread entitled "come here to complain about ASA" so us guys worried about hiring can have ours back.

Here's some answers/advice related to the original question. There's nothing more to say about the hiring situation so don't get angry about it.

nothing happening here except attrition.

I interviewed with ASA last week 23/24 their interviewing people to build their pool. They won't hire until the pilot contract is resolved is what they told me.

Go somewhere else, like Skywest.

Nope whiny boy. You got it wrong. We want and demand a fair contract. If the company won't give it up, then maybe they'll (mgt) cause it to shutdown.
Did you ever hear about the time Skippy had an RJ flown to Peachtree City to pick up his fellow mgt pukes, and jetted off? Ask BL about that, I believe he was onboard that one. had mgt pilots too, imagine that!

WTF are you even reading this then. No one forcing you to read this are they? Go fly your kingair. Worreid about hiring here? Tough sheet buddy. This is the airline world today. Maybe you ought to stick with your little kingair job.

Actually dude, Im really interested in working for ASA... and its hard to get any information worth anything if every single thread is about the same thing. And when we start new ones... they end up being about the same thing too after the same guys consitently highjack every single thread. I understand the situation sucks right now... but its not like you guys do anything but make fun of each other anyways.

I mean, bash me all you want... I dont care, Im just trying to find out useful information about when I MAY be able to start class. Sorry to p!ss you off so bad.

You may be on to something about not reading these things though. I guess I will go back to my little king air job.

Don't take it personally bro, there is A LOT of pent up frustration at ASA. Judging from the number of Sky West pilots at ATL Flight Safety today, I think things at ASA will get woarse before they get better.

jacksjj,

I'm sorry some of my fellow ASA pilots are being a$$es. Many of us like it here, and we would welcome you aboard. ASA has it's problems, but so does every place. There are far worse places to be. That being said, I don't see any growth until the contract is settled. Hopefully our hardliners will see the reality around us, and we can settle this contract. Don't let the naysayers get to you - they are just miserable people.

You are getting good information. It's just information you're chosing to ignore because you don't like what you're hearing. ASA is not the best plae for a new hire right now. You would be much better off going elsewhere. Even skywest.

I am not miserable. I'm actually very happy. My life is not my job. See my avatar.

I refuse to be sold out for less than I'm worth just so I can brag to my neighbors that I'm a pilot. Like you. Apparently, you will do anything to keep this job, even take food out of your family's mouth. That's sad.

And I do believe Mr Dudley, aka "Biscuit" was flying the plane. Hmmm.

jacksjj, sorry for ASADriver being such as wimpy whiny loser. I like it here too, but I demand a fair contract. If you make it here, you'll want that too. That's what non-union employess and lsoers like ASADriver don't realize. What the union fights for and gets, they'll get some too. For example, last contract we got the 4th week of vacation. Did the non-union employess at ASA get 4 weeks too? You betcha!

Was that the time "Biscuit" was observed taxing out at Peachtree with the flaps retracted, and coming down while taxing out? Thought there was an AD about inspecting them there flappers before taxi.
