And after CrewBid, it looks like we are one step closer to PBS ourselves.

Ok, fellow pilots, it's time to get past the denial stage and move on in the grieving process! FLICA is DEAD and Buried! It's time to move on in life!

We all know our friend, FLICA! Crewbid is no FLICA! However, it can get the job done! Our Corporate leaders say that it will continue to evolve! It costs us nothing in out of pocket dollars!

Our version of Crewbid is what we have and no amount of commiserating will bring our friend, FLICA, back! Crewbid will work and is still better than paper bidding. It's just not as slick and efficient as what we had in our friend, FLICA! WE WILL SURVIVE with Crewbid!

It is flawed thinking to attempt to associate our version of Crewbid with Preferential Bidding. There is NO CORRELATION or connection with PBS, no more than the correlation between FLICA and PBS. Crewbid and FLICA are simply tools to help manage a pilot's line bidding selection and then bid submission. They both employ sort features and filters to help the pilot select a line from a data base of "published lines"--with selection that meets his monthy priorities! Either of these tools is still much better than bidding from paper--although that process is still available for those who want to incur the expense of printing out the bid package. Neither FLICA or our version of Crewbid are directly associated with PBS.

I think this crewbid was developed originally for PBS and adapted for line-bidding. Hopefully they'll be open to making improvements.

Before they even think about bringing PBS to us, the FA's better think it's the best thing since sliced bread since they'll already be using it. Poor schedule quality will quickly undue all of the progress ASA has made in pilot relations in the last year.

Easy solution... Bid reserve. Take a month off with pay.

You'll thank me.

Not to sound like a cynic, but if you do that and expect a month off, you may be disappointed.

f/a's are years from getting PBS. It will COST the company $$$$ so we will be using the Crewbid system just like you

Try to take an objective look at the situation.

Crew bid is cheap and meets the limitations of the contract. FLICA was expensive.

ASA Pilots are the only crewmembers in the Skywest family who are not using PBS. Why would Skywest pump a bunch of money developing software that is only going to be used by 25% of the workforce?

If Skywest wants us to use PBS, why would they make the software easier to use if what they have meets contractural requirements?

It just makes sense for them to implement CREWBID and to NOT spend a bunch of dough improving it.

Typical whiny puss pilots. Always b!tching about something. Deal with it. You'll live.
