Who's in the junta... oops coalition? I never got the management memo...oops email.
You will be asked to vote for 2 captain representatives and 2 first officer representatives. This coalition asks for you to vote for all four of the following as a single group.
Lynn Jackson – Capt. Rep.
John (Barry) Lee – Capt. Rep.
David ( Bryan) Bowie – First Officer Rep.
Graham Welsh – First Officer Rep.
Don't vote for this coalition. Lynn has already proved that she has only her interests and those of her younger boyfriend in mind. Just ask anyone who was on the negotiating team last contract about the things these two pulled.
i don't have a dog in this fight, and i apologize for interrupting...what's the deal with all this "older gf/younger bf" stuff?
Yep, just saw it on the other thread. Don't know the FOs, and I'm pretty surprised to see Barry's name there, but Lynn is Lynn is Lynn. Before any of you actually vote for these people, do your homework about Lynn. She is no friend of this pilot group.
I virtually guarantee you the sales pitch was written by JB. Sounds just like him, and the whole thing gave me the idea I was standing in front of a circus tent. "Step right up and see the amazing pilot group saviors. That's right folks. Right before your very eyes, these four individuals will transform the working environment at ASA, get you a fair contract, personally shine your shoes prior to each duty in, and always have your Jepp revisions done for you on time! Step right up. Step right up!"
Just remember how you felt after you got out of the tent at the circus. What you saw wasn't nearly as amazing as what you were promised, and your wallet was a bit lighter than it was when you showed up.
goodto are you really that much of a selfish ass? The 700 displacements dont affect the atr or the 200 directly. if a 700 captain wants to go back to the 200 and it keeps a more junior guy from being kicked is that a bad thing? the company requested it due to pilots asking for it. the jackass response from newwy has angered a lot of pilots as its floats around the lounge. this was a no brainer - except for selfish morons like you...
Wow. So, you're blaming the company's decision to displace pilots on the union? How about ACARS still no up and running, this due to the union as well?
-Blucher:erm:
Ask Joe Merchant. Basically, he broke up LJ's marriage because the two of them were having a grand ole time on ALPA's dollar while they were on the contract negoiation committee. He's alot younger than his gf, LJ.
VOTED IN FAVOR!
Interesting strategy for a campaign. If we don't get what we want, we will quit. I don't think this coalition will be getting many votes.
you guys are not bright - i dont want to be displaced or bid off the 700, im quite happy - i just think when some more senior pilots agree to bid off it to keep someone more junior from being kicked is not a bad thing - but since it wasnt our mighty unions idea i understand you not seeing this. look up lemming....
the company asked the union for permission after being asked - what else are they supposed to do? hope you guys have fun ridding off into the sunset with newenhouser and crowd - hope mr worth buys your lunch.

There is currently a coalition of 4 pilots that are considering running as a team. They are still in the discussion phase and all the names are not final. They are proposing a platform that would promise either a TA or a release within 90 days of taking office. If this isn't achieved, they will resign. This TA would include hourly payraises for everyone. Trip and duty rigs, Per diem increase, Scheduling/QOL improvements, 401K improvements, Sick time improvements, and most important job security including the halt of aircraft transfers. Job security will be priority number one. To answer your questions, no I am not one of the 4.
If you want more information, PM me.
The alternative of starting over at the bottom on another seniority list in another city for 20-30 thousand is worse than accepting the concessions. The ability to make lateral moves like EVERY OTHER PROFESSION would curb this behavior and help people draw that mythical line in the sand everyone talks about.
... because we all know a vote for the coalition is a vote for you. Lynn would never leave you out.
Actually, I disagree. I think Lynn would stick a stiletto heel in JB's back in a heartbeat if she saw it in her best interest. JB never has been able to see that he's a lackey at best, and a b!tch at worst.
However, having said that, even without JB in the picture, it would be a cold day in hell before I let LJ represent me.
If this coalition gets elected, I wouldn't be surprised if you see ALPA volunteers walk off the job en masse. Let's see how well they manage the MEC for their 90 days with no volunteer support.
That is unless, of course, Scott Hall feels like manning the ALPA office on his off days....
It will take Lynn 90 days just to form a new CNC and get it up to speed.
