Boy, there's 5 minutes and four pages of my life that I'll never get back...

Jason and CP, I never have, nor will I ever, question or criticize your abilities as a pilot. But Jason even when people are trying to help you, all you want to do is complain and you make the person helping you feel like never wanting to help you again. And that's just being truthful with you. But that's a petty personal issue we have with each other and in no way relates to our jobs or this board. Sorry. I don't want anyone to think I'm personally attacking anyone or calling them out. But you post a thread like this and don't care if anyone knows who you are or where you work and it really embarrasses your fellow employees. If you really were sick, then I am sorry for blowing it all out of proportion.

Jason, when you answer Homerjdispatch's post on this thread, you'll begin to remember.

SpyFly, when your last name starts being used as a verb, that's when you know you've made the dispatch list.

Thank you for the detailed answer.
I certainly learned something from it...

SpyFly,

It means you possess either the uncanny ability to make two or more dispatchers curse when they hear your name for whatever personal reasons, the ability to ground any aircraft you set foot on, the ability to make another pilot shudder when finding out you are the captain on the inbound flight, and finally the ability to envoke humor anytime your last name is mentioned due to the odd nature of said last name or first name in conjucture with it.

Good thing is.....you look like a stay at home dad. SkyWest and this industry is better off without you.

Geez! Some peoples' kids. Saddest part is that now this is gonna be another Jason Jr. running around. And in 20-some years he'll be bragging about stupid crap just like his dad. I'm pretty sure he'll have a stupid picture of himself on the web too.

What an A$$

XPOO,

one more tool who thinks they know who i am. i love it. I know of whom you speak, but let me assure you, that I am not that person. in fact, i am somewhat insulted that you would assume that I am him. anyway, dont you have acars msgs to respond to? i believe you have 3 minutes. cant remember the last time i got a response in 3 minutes...

All these complaints about ACARS messages not being replied to by pilots of various companies.

You guys do know that there are spots all over where ACARS messaging is no-comm or where there are ARINC station outages, right? Happens daily. Resend if you get no response...or, perhaps, (*gasp*) make a radio call.

It's really becoming a lame little pseudo-insult.

The fine people who programed our ACARS have a message displayed that says:

ACARS No Com

When we are in a non signal area.

I believe the last figure I heard was $15 ish to use ATL radio?

OK, CP, you have a flight during the 23Z hour, let's see you post during that time and prove me wrong.

Thing is...even if there is "avail comm", msgs sometimes bounce off the recvng station. When dispatch sends you a msg and we never get a response, we are able to check the log and see if it bounced. When it's coming from the aircraft, there's no way for us to see the bounce because it never made it through a station to be logged.

If it's just a random question, sure...making a $15 radio call might look a little dumb. But, in my experience, there are times (possible divert, wx questions, etc.) where you guys rely too heavily on ACARS when the info can be better conveyed and questions better answered with a radio call. What's $15 in grand scheme of the cost of operating a flight?

Sorry, but it does not take courage to leave this industry. I suggest it takes courage to STAY in this industry. And what "dues" are you referring to? Did he "pay" something extraordinary? How is getting into this industry any different from going into the medical field, for example. Good grief. The bottom line is this individual has made the decision to leave this company, but before he does, he takes FMLA, (again, knowing full well he isn't returning) then goes on a forum to brag about his "sick" days. Where is the courage in that? You sir, just like this individual, lack work and personal ethics.
It's easy to have the "courage" when you live in your mom's basement and troll the web, and sound like an idiot.
Which mojito is.

Jason-

Glad to hear you'll no longer be trolling the crewforums.com website. Calling in sick 29 times in a one year period means you probably only worked 5 whole days a month. Which actually turned out to be a good thing, seeing as I, nor any of my fellow dispatchers, had to put up with you too often. Do me a favor and get CP to leave with you. And no I'm not using the abrviation for chief pilot, I'm talking about skypine69. I feel sorry for the missus because I don't know which is whinier, you or the new baby. Good riddance.
Don't you have a flight or 2 to monitor? Now STFU add 50lbs to the release fuel, and start typing, when I tell you too. Your self inflated notion of self importance is boring. I could get my RJ from DEN to BOI just fine without you, in fact most days I do because you really don't do anything in the big scheme of things, just type on a keyboard all day. Don't even compare yourself to a Real Dispatcher, 'cause you aren't even close! During my commutes(UAL,DAL,F9, LUV ect.), in the jumpseat I see tons of communication from dispatch alerting the pilots to WX, turb pireps and other kinda important stuff. In 10 years at SKYW the only communication from dispatch in flight has been to call Screwskeduling for tater stretching. So go back to your little screen and keep fantasizing, you have a function that would entitle you to an opinion.

I guess if the SkyWest pilots would quit sending us ACARS messages asking us to call their mommies and let them know how much of a layover they have in XYZ city, we could do all those wonderful things you say.

Yeah,
But you still don't, so STFU and add that 50lbs to the release fuel.
Fukkin toolbox...

Would that be so you can always feel like you are rounding up on the fuel load instead of sometimes having to round down?

How is you can fly to BOI without a dispatcher but the trainers can't even file their own flight plans.

Sure hope you know how to figure your divert fuel from your divert point to your divert airport without dispatch too. But hell, that extra 50lbs of fuel oughta get you another 5 mins to figure that stuff out right?
