YES. If they are allowed to park them with NO PENALTY due to DALPA's scope language. Honestly, do you think NWA guys should be furloughed because your scope clause allows them to be parked vs NWA scope clause that penalizes NWA tremendously for parking them beyond a certain point?

DALAPA's scope clause would allow DAL to park every DC9 with NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER on Delta Connection. They could replace every one with a Delta RJ. That can't happen at NWA. But you guys LOVE to ignore that and say that if DAL parks DC9's NWA pilots should pay the price for that.....even though it is 100% due to DAL's scope that it would be possible.

Didn't you hear? NWA ALPA is trying to find an arbitrator to negotiate with Delta Management......that is the only way they know how to negotiate ANYTHING.

We just raised the bar for PAY---as a jumping off point. We still need to do things for a JOINT contract, and if NWA ALPA doesn't get involved, then it is their fault.

If it wasn't for the merger, NWA would be limited to their ability to park the -9s.

If the -9s are parked due to the merger, why should ANY NWA guys get furloughed if it happens due to the scope language DALPA negotiated.

You are right. Your MEC should spend the joint contract $ on keeping your scope in the new jointly negotiated and jointly voted on contract. Keep the scope, and you can keep your pay scales too. You can only buy so many goodies.

NWA pilots are not working under the DAL contract and never will. The new contract will be just that. Voted on by all pilots. You seem to think our contract is being imposed on you.

BTW get over our recent retirements. The lists are what they are, just as the DC-9s are what they are.

Hey, what we did was bring the pay up a level, and from there we can negotiate a "joint contract." We focused on the pay part, as a jumping off point. You're welcome.

But I do have a question about the scope, which will be negotiated by BOTH SIDES in the "Joint Contract." What exactly does your scope clause say about the consequences of parking more DC9s? On the regionals forum I stated that the parking of more DC9s would possibly park Compass planes. Is that true? Here is what a Pinnacle guy (Doin time)stated to me:

No, I want you to tell me what your CURRENT contract says about parking the DC9s. You don't seem to want to answer that. And, anything in the "combined" contract will be a result of BOTH of our MECs negotiating. No more blaming just Moak and Co. Time to blame Stevens too.....

How does our scope clause have any bearing on your DC-9s?

Even after the DCC your contract, including your scope clause, will still be in place until both NW ALPA and DALPA negotiate a new joint contract. Ya’ll will have a vote on this new contract. If it passes won’t it be our scope clause? Why would you assume that the new joint contract will allow the parking of the DC-9’s with out penalty?
