its gonna be a blood bath for sure....

I've never thought of the Air Force as a charitable organization, but anyone that pays an incompetent pilot and blowhard like Tanker Clown obviously doesn't have the bottom line in mind.

The best part is, each of us is paying this guy's salary, a large portion of which is probably being spent on gay porn and velcro mittens.
The funnier part.....Its not much of a salary! Especially when you consider his stellar airmanship behind (and under) the desk!

Man....we've been over this multiple times. Assuming that you are a 12 year 777 FO, I make around $20K more a year than you do. And that's before you consider I don't have to pay much income tax. Ask some other ex mil guys. It's public record, you can look it up.

Keep telling yourself you make more. I just got a 4% pay raise...how much did you get?

Well then, by using simple math, you make significantly less than an AF O-5. It's a fact. So, if you think I'm visiting soup kitchens then you are a full time patron.

I realize it sucks to make less than an AF guy. When I almost got out in '01, the tables were turned. Then you guys kept taking pay cuts and not getting raises. Meanwhile, I got promoted a couple of times and kept getting annual pay raises.

I agree, it's not fair. You should make more....but then again, you have only yourself to blame for making less than an AF guy or (what used to be a joke paywise) a Southwest pilot.

You guys should grab a pair, pull your thumbs out of your mouths, and get your money back. I realize this would make your "operating loss" wider, but the General said it's cool to lose money in the winter.

Enjoy your desk time now Clown - get your rest while you can. When you get on with SWA you'll have to get used to 20 minute turns and FO duties for the next 12 years.

I pride myself on donating my many days off a month to help out the homeless. I can only imagine how cold it must get in that trailer of yours without any help.

I'm sure the real pilots make pretty good money. However (under the desk) people like you who are busy sharpening pencils and bringing in the mail are not making that much....

See, we can agree on something. DL pilots should get paid more. But its still more than you're making. That's what's funny.....We survived BK and still make more than tanker (ass) clown. What's even funnier, is that this forum is the closest you'll come to working for either carrier!

You guys should grab a pair,
I'm sure in your spare time, you're used to grabbing a pair, but that's for you and your probation officer to discuss!

pull your thumbs out of your mouths, and get your money back.

I'm sure you're used to pulling things out of your mouth too,  but that's between you and your therapist!

That's between you and the General, who you seem to have quite the infatuation with. More talk for you and your therapist, maybe??;)

I wouldn't call mil payscales soup kitchen wages. You may top out higher at an airline, but when you look at the median wage, mil pay blows civilian compensation out of the water. Even major airline new-hire wage is a paycut from 2LT pay (I'm including BAH and the taxfree perks) for Christ sake. Now that is not to say that it is a way simpler job to work for an airline than live under the mounds of BS that entails attempting to fly in the military, but on a pay argument I rather get paid well for 20 years than not get paid sh%t for 10 to get paid well for one to start over again and get paid sh%t for another 10. This is the problem with this industry. People say don't look at first-year pay, but the reality is everybody is so fixiated on widebody CA pay that they're willing to put up with decades of crappy pay for a job in the "away from home a lot" category. All my friends in engineering hate their life at work and feel stuck because you can't use the degree for anything else. Granted. But when I explain the problem that arises out of the aforementioned furloughs and the lateral career problem in flying, they look at me like I'm from Mars. It is something everybody takes for granted except f$cking pilots. It's retarded.

2008-09 will be an interesting couple of years. Furloughs will occur at the majors, and a lot of mil folks are going to freeze and not bail, but the AF is gonna start pushing folks out with the changing administration.

Flying is just like acting, bunch of people vesting their livelihood on the possibility they can replicate the experiences of the very few timing-lucky = sh$tty career for the median. No stability and a workforce who's willing to do it for free. ugh.
