The Mexicans are not investigating. They dont give a $hit. All they care about is getting paid. If there is a juicy fat bribe in it for them, they'll say whatever you want and pencil whip the probable cause. Chances are we are never going to know the true cause of the accident.
 
I heard that they're going to try & pin it on some sort of fuel imbalance BS by some scenarios they cooked up in the sim.

First off the autopilot will kick off way before the imbalance gets too bad to control. Also it only becomes uncontrollable at slow airspeeds. If you are around 150-160 kts it'll fly regardless of the fuel imbalance. If the autopilot isn't doing the flying you will notice it way before it's too late.
