There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January.
In the fair city of
Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January.
That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war torn country of
Iraq. When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following:

FDR...led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost -- an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in
Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost -- an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the
Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost -- an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. In the two years since terrorists attacked us President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but it took less time to take
Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation. We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the
Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take
Iraq than it took to count the votes in
Florida!!!! Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high! The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.

Wait, there's more!!!!
JOHN GLENN ON THE SENATE FLOOR Date:
Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13
Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. This is a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum to Senator Glenn: "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn: "I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank.

I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day ... to a veteran's hospital and look at those men -- with their mangled bodies -- in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee ... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National
Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags. You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that that those people didn't have a job? I'll tell you, Howard Metzenbaum; you should be on your knees every day of your life thanking God that there were some men who held REAL jobs. And they required a dedication to a purpose -- and a love of country and a dedication to duty -- that was more important than ! life itself. And their self-sacrifice is what made this country possible. I HAVE held a job, Howard! What about you?"

For those who don't remember - During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the
USA. Now he is a Senator!
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a Veteran. It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating until November.

Iraq didn't attack us. It didn't harbor the people who attack us.
So we're to wait around until we are attacked before rooting out these terrorists? No, thanks. Iraq was chock full of people who wanted to attack us, including their dictator.

Going into Iraq , using this horrible event as an excuse, opened a pandoras box that made us lose all the credibility we had in the Western World. If you say "I don't care what they think about me" you are a fool becuase there is only 250 mils of us in the world of 4 bil.
Germany, France, Russia, et al have credibility? Please! They are knee-deep in corruption in the Oil for Food program. Read a paper, why don't you? Your suggestion reeks of the "global test" criterion set forth by Kerry. I don't care what the "Axis of Weasels" think about us when we act to protect our own citizens and country. I want a leader who will reach out and touch a terrorist in his home, rather than waiting until that terrorist is in my home.

Another one who just doesn't get it.

You are smoking Bush propaganda piper. Where on earth a democracy was established by invading a country?
Whose smoking the piper?

Let's make a brief list of recent times where democracy was established after U.S. "invasion"; Afganistan, France (2X), Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, most of the South Pacific, and Japan. And I'm sure I missed some.

Light-up.

Afghanistan is not a democracy. Paying warlord $$$ to fight on your side and putting a puppet from an oil executive doesn't make it a democracy.

France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy they had democracy before US and Britain liberated them from invading forces. Much like the first Gulf War which was completely legitimate.

Germany and Austria was a democracy before WWII. How do you think Nazi party got into the power.

The fact of the matter is US didn't get engaged on this "democratisation" band wagon right after WWII by the cronies that established in various part of the world. I gave you the list..

As long as we keep doing what we have been doing since the 50s, we will suffer the consequences.

Just get of out the US for a while and talk to as many people as you can. Thanks to the Bush policies we are all alone in this world.

Spain left the "coalition of the willing". Poland is pulling troops back. Both Blair and Howard are extemely unpopular in their countries becuase they kiss Bush *ss.

By going to Iraq, we lost all the legitimacy in the war on terrorism (not terror).

You also didn't reply to my question about why US is still supporting the existance of a terrorist group in Northern Iraq that State Dept. declared it a terrorist organisation.

PS: By piper I meant pipe.

You are wrong.. why? If he was so bad why did we support this guy right until 1991? If he was so dangerous, what did he have.. He didn't have nuclear weapons, he didn't have WMD.

The corruption of OFF program is not as bad as it has been exagerated by the Republicans. Yes, Saddam's sons were smuggling cigarettes into Iraq. You invade a country for that?

Read the history, we are getting into the mess that Britain and France got into after WWI in the Middle East.

We are creating (if we haven't already created) the most unstable party of the worl , which was already unstable.

This is not the way to go.. This is not promoting democracy..

Let us assume that FlyingToISTand others are correct? What exactly is the best way to address the problem of terroist groups? As a side note, FlyingToIST, I think some of your concepts of history need to be re-researched. For one item, did we really support Saddam during his war with Iran? Let me put it this way, Iran's primary fighter, at that time, was the F4. I wonder how they maintained them in the 80's?

I watched that clip from start to finish. I was totally moved by it and it reminded me all over again of that awful day. The last thing we need is for it to be politiced by both parties in the upcoming election.

We always hear both Bush and Kerry in the campaign harp over and over that they are doing everything to make America safe. Hunh! Really? I don't think so. Why won't either of them secure OUR OWN BORDERS by deploying the 30,000 troops doing nothing in Germany to STOP the flow of 3 million illegals flooding in EVERY SINGLE YEAR according to the Census Bureau? Ye know out of 3 million even if 99% are law abiding that still means 30,000 are criminals and lets say another 1% of those are Al Queda boys. 300 of those murderers is 300 too many for me. How about for you Mr Bush and Mr Kerry? Stop being so policically correct and stop caving into immigrant pressure groups who want an open border. That is flat out dangerous, crazy and irresponsible regardless of how liberal or conservative you are. Period. If Bush and Kerry are so afraid to seal our border and speak their mind because of what MIGHT happen I'd hate to think how afraid they were when rejected by a girl! STOP misleading us and REALLY do EVERYTHING to keep us safe Mr Bush (and Mr Kerry if elected.)
