You really are an insufferable tool. How many other airlines actually send flight attendants to the hotel ALONE? At least at the majors, they travel in groups.

DAL splits them.

If it's such a big deal for the FAs have them talk to their unions reps and have their language changed in their contract.

That is kinda my point. The fitty only has ONE FA, and she has to travel by herself. Can anyone else see how this could be a problem in some places? For example-DHN or OAJ? Gen Lee's toothless pappy is the driver in DHN-and we all know how ethical that old buzzard is.

-Whatever-no one will care until something bad happens.... Certainly this pairing model causes a whole hell of a lot of needless confusion about where everyone is and when we will all make it to the same plane.

she sure is...with his wonderful personality do you know how he gets her to come into the flight deck to see him?.....he puts a twinkie on the glare shield and greases the door jamb.

-Only when your mom is my FA....oops. I think I just may have let that cat out of the bag!

You have a choice if your so worried about the FAs. Wear pants, fly planes...wear skirts, be a FA and help them change their work rules! Is it the pilots battle? Nope.

OAJ and DHN are safe. Both hotels are decent. The only one you might have an argument on, in the entire system would be Knoxville- where you have to walk the cosway from the airport to the hotel. If they are uncomfortable about it, they need to ensure transportation is provided.

Safety is a simple deal, really. Don't walk at night by yourself, get a cab/use the hotel van when available. Have a hotel staff employee escort them when needed or for room checks. Professional women travel alone all the time outside of the airline industry and can do it. So should our F/A's. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if it's not a concern out of laziness and not wanting to sign themselves in/call for the van by themselves. Dress it up all you want, but most of them do stuff like this on their own time, off the clock, so they ought to be able to do it by themselves on the road too.

I think what EVERYONE is missing is that the flight attendant is going to get to the overnight with a crew 90% (if not more) of the time. Most of the swapping around is going on during the day, and then they go to the hotel with a new crew.

I know I will be personally be very upset if the FA contract ever dictates that the pilot lines have to be identical. If they do that, then they have to give up the other criteria they have in their language, and take whatever lines the pilots get. If the FAs want 75 hour block lines at the expense of 3 day trips, fine, but don't dictate those terms to the pilot group through contract language.

It does stink, but let the numbers speak for itself. Do you really want to waste negotiating capital on this? Why not let the ASA pilots support their flight attendant's union.... from the sidelines.

Do you guys realize how many young single female business travelers we carry on our airplanes who travel alone ?? These are grown women who work for us. Its really not a big deal. We are all professional adults, lets act like it!!

Here's some irony... the vast majority of our FA's could kick the cr@p out of the vast majority of our pilots...

You mean the young, PFT, low time, greasy hair, sunglasses on my head in the term., Ipod wearing, backpack wearing, BMW driving, mommy paying my rent, I chase FAs and I'm a stud, I'm at the bottom and I want weekends off, what do you mean I have to do a post flight, SH told us xyz and so it will happen, what do you mean I have to study for a PC check and I have not gone thru puberty yet pilots? I thought they all got jobs at the mainlines?

I am not complaining about the fact that FAs come and go from place to place-the safety issue is not my primary complaint. The gripe I have is that Jumpersaway seems hold them in such contempt-just look at the nasty way he refers to them. You should read his previous posts-it is very evident that he doesn't value their work or have any empathy for them whatsoever.

That a girl, you tell him!

I also mean the old as dirt, too fat to fit through the emergency escape hatch, decades old pilot shirt wearing, original 1980's Ray Ban Aviators sporting, Otter story telling, cheatin' on the third wife with a FA young enough to be their daughter, sure Eastern will be back any day now, poppin' the blue pill and not tellin' the AME, and misty eyed about their right to now occupy the top of the seniority list until they are 65 types. Those guys, too.

(FWIW, I like most of these guys, and they certainly have the best stories to tell...)
