Rich-o
No, but I have a profound respect for those that have served. Anyone else go to the WWII dedication this weekend. Intense stuff.

This is not a partisan issue to me. I voted for Dole, McCain (in the primary) and will vote for Kerry. I agree with the guy who said it mil service doesnt affect elections. I can't understand why.

If people disagree with Kerry's politics, thats fine. But the guy is entitled to a certain amount of respect for enlisting and putting himself in combat. He could have avoided service. Making the case that al queda would vote for Kerry is disrespectful.

Remember when Bush Sr was VP, and people called him a wimp. One cover of Newsweek was entitled "Wimp Factor." That obviously turned out not to be true. I'm willing to bet that the image many portray about Kerry isnt true either.

double standard alert!!!

I am not a Bush Hupporter at all. i think he had a chance to do great things but has thus far failed. He had a Republican house and senate and yet we still have out of control spending and no decent social security reform. I will be voting for Badnarik, the LP candidate.

It was just posted that saying AL-Queda would vote for Kerry is disrespectful.

A few posts back someone posted that Frank Lorenzo would vote for Bush.

It is the same argument.

Bush...

Strong personal ethics. He knows what's right and then does it. He doesn't care what the French and Germans think. If today was 9/12/01, we'd all be suppoting him for what he's done. On the domestic side, he's done more for democrat policies than any democrat, yet they still complain. The economy is coming back from the recession and the effects of the 9/11/ attack. IMHO, he's done a good job despite the best efforts of terrorists and democrat zealots.

I would consider voting for Joe Lieberman, but would probably stick with Bush.

KERRY

Although I will not vote for Kerry, I have no problem with ALPA endorsing him on the grounds of a single issue - - LABOR.

ALPA IS, after all, a LABOR UNION, and I am, after all, an hourly wage earner.

:)

Read what was requested in the original post.

OK. I would like to see how many ALPA members on this board agree. If you belong to ALPA, please reply "KERRY" or "BUSH" to show who you would prefer ALPA endorse.

It was a simple one-or-the-other. Perhaps Bush voters are the only ones who can read. Jackass.
Of course, and in 2000 Bush voters showed that they are the only ones that knew how to vote!

If you are going to be an idiot and vote liberal, at least make a nice clean punch.

BUSH

Funny how Bush and CHeney love going around to all the college graduations, yet because of security (and maybe because he had no invite to speak) didnt want to go to his daughters graduations.

Family values?

Kerry

BUT...I just want to say that the reason Bush didn't go to the UT graduation was to not create more problems for the families that wanted to see their sons and daughters graduate from UT. I think it was a nice gesture and has NOTHING to do with family values.

Bush

Like it was said earlier, get your facts from some reliable source (not the media).
The choice becomes obvious.

enigma said:
Between the two choices you give, Bush. I disagree with numerous Bush policies, but
still find more agreement than I find with Kerry. With that said, vote Libertarian.

enigma
did you watch the Libertarian convention? These guys have it right...I really liked the quote the candiate used when refering to Voting libertarian is "throwing your vote away" He said..."If you where in jail and had a choice 50% lethal injection, 45% gas chamber and 5% escape what would you vote for?" Duh escape!!! They want to get gov out of lives and put free market back into it...Bush is somewhat unpresidental and Kerry is somewhat unrealistic...The democratic agenda has been tried and failed...as in The former Soviet Union!!!

vmc-hound is not currently a ALPA member but I did stay a a Holiday inn express Last night!!!!

RESUME

GEORGE W. BUSH

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington, DC 20520

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Law Enforcement:
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

Military:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

College:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:

- I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America.

- I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

- I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.

- With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

- I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.

- I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.

- I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

- I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

- I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.

- I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

- I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month.

- I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

- I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President.

- I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

- My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron.

- My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.

- I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to
intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

- I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

- I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.

- I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history.

- I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.

- I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.

- I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

- I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

- I refused to allow inspector's access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.

- I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

- I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.

- I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.

- I garnered the most sympathy ever for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

- I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.

- I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.

- I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families in wartime.

- In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.

- I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.

- I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.

- I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

-All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

- All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

- All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.

PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004!

Even as a Kerry supporter it's obvious that some of that is slanted, no doubt. But some of it is fact and I would like to see the Bush supporters provide justification for much of what is being said. Maybe if someone can honestly provide valid reasoning for much of what Bush has done then I might see why someone would vote for him.

It wouldnt be that hard really. I might rip it apart later today. Suffice to say, the texas governor is a pretty weak position, President does not have the power to do a lot of what that person gives blame for, and a good chunk of that is results from 9/11. The majority of the Enron crimes happened while Clinton was president but that does not make him responsible either.

As far as the economy...

If you actually looked at the facts you would see the plateau started during the Clinton administration.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=^DJI&t=my&l=on&z=l&q=l&c=

After almost 20 years of stagnation, in ‘82ish the DJIA started climbing like mad. . .ALMOST all the way through the Clinton administration. Check out what happens in ’99. Growth stops! “Here you go Gee-Dub…Have fun with this one.” That stagnation would continue into the first 9 months of the GW admin.

Look at it and tell me how that’s Bush’s fault.

Then the market drops like crazy just about the middle of Sept, 01. Funny thing about the economy…it likes stability. Since 9/11, that’s been in short supply…and if Kerry (or Gore) was in office, it would be no better.

That’s the history of the USA after all…to attack and occupy the rest of the world so we can strip them of all there wealth and move on. Agent Smith (Matrix) called the human race little better than a virus. And throughout our history the US has done nothing but prove that point. Huh?

Name one war we have one (outside of the very early years of our history) where we have gone to war to gain assets (New land, oil, or any other resource that would make the war worth while). If we want oil, all we have to do is look in our own back yard. Canada and Mexico are both easy targets with a lot more oil than Iraq.

No we haven’t found significant WMD’s; definitely not enough to justify being the main stated cause of the war. But the whole world, including Kerry, Clinton, and the weak and worthless UN, knew that sufficient weapons existed at one time and were presently unaccounted for. All Saddam had to do was tell the world where they were. He loses the warheads, but stays in power. Doesn’t make sense.

Why do we need to continue? especially in the wake of the incidents in Fallujah. Well, this post is about long enough…

I HIGHLY recommend this rather long read. I would just write the same thing.

Cheers,

Bush, By the way.

I do disagree with a lot that he has done. But he's a better leader than Kerry.

Cheers,
D

Bush.......

I love it when the head of the steel workers union gets a whole page to endorse Kerry in our magazine. I also love the fact that it implies many similarities between pilots and steelworkers.

If that is true, this profession has gone to hell. No hats, No brass, No tie, No pay, NO RESPECT. Show pride in your uniform and yourself.
