You're kinda screwed aren't you. At 100k the Democrats think you're rich. On the other hand at 100k the Republicans think you are middle class. Last I looked neither the republicans nor the democrats did anything for the middle class. And as far as people ranting and raving about the tax cut. That money you saved in the tax cut went right into your gas tank. By the way isn't Bush and Cheney oil men? Things that make you go, hmmm. Just a few observations, I'm still undecided.

. . . I seem to remember during the 2000 elections ALPA tried to have an interview with all the candidates about their feelings toward the airlines. Nearly all responded, both Dems and Repubs, except Bush. . .

The invitation came after ALPA publicly endorsed Al "Lockbox" Gore. Small wonder Bush said "no thanks, see ya in November".

Hmmm,

Healthcare for all
No reliance on fossil fuels (what fuels your jet that pays your salary?)
Immigration limits
Deficit reduction = high taxes and stunted business growth
Limits on companies moving HQs to Bermuda

Yeah, I lived in a country just like that for three years - Germany

It's called socialism and their unemployment rate was over 11% and their economy was woefully stagnant

We are a captialistic, free market society

Kerry wants a socialistic, government controlled society

That's a little over the top, overexagerated and simplistic. I hardly think Kerry or anyone for that matter wants to change our rich history of capitalism and democracy.

He doesn't want to change the history. He wants to change the future.

Check out his voting record. Its long and its the most liberal in the senate. More so than Sen. "I'll take a double" Kennedy.

I stand by my statement. Nice comment about Kennedy too. I seem to remember that Bush once had a drinking problem too. Keep it to politics. Why do people always try and make it personal.

Some of you on here sound like a bunch of whiny kids with your ME ME ME attitude and I GOT MINE SO SCREW THE REST OF YOU mentality.

Think deep on how we are going to fix the following problems. And don't spout off some over-used and tired Rush Limbaugh line either:

1. Pay down the $500 billion deficit. Cheney himself said the administration doesn't care about deficits.

2. End our reliance on fossil fuels. Drilling in ANWAR gives 6 months supply at best and is definately not the answer.

3. Restore our image throughout the world.

4. Bring up the QOL in this country instead of outsourcing our high paying jobs to India, etc.

5. Put a lid on immigration which is overstressing our infrastructure and further contributing to the downward spiral of wages in this country.

6. Have affordable and fair health care for all legal citizens. It is the governments duty to take care of its own people.

Bush has no credible plan to address any of these issues. Just the usual lies and doubletalk designed to confuse.

My response was to this diatribe. The point, that if Kerry would do all of this to "fix" America - we would have to become socialist. It is not oversimplification. The only way to pay for the above solution is to take away democratic and free market measures - and oh yeah - increase taxes on everyone to pay for it all. More government doesn't make it better. We have enough bureaucracy already. Besides, why all the complaining about Bush or Kerry - it's congress that controls the legislation and the purse strings.

Kerry's agenda for getting rid of our *500 Billion!!* deficit that Bush created is to raise taxes on those individuals who make more than $200,000 per year. Rightly so...it is that group that Bush gave the biggest tax cuts to. I doubt most people on this board fall into that category...so you have nothing to worry about. Corporations are going to start being held accountable for their fair share also, instead of being allowed to set up HQ in Bermuda and the like to avoid paying taxes to our government. Kerry has the backbone to make the tough decisions to get this country financially back on track and start to repair the loss of dignity we've suffered throughout the world at the hands of ol' Dubya and his cronies of Enron-like executives.

#1 Both parties are guilty of more guberment and viewing the average citizen as a means of extracting more tax money out of while exercising more control over our daily lives.

#3 You mean just as the chief predator and great warrior Clinton did?

#4 Both parties don't give a rats tail. They're for sale to the highest bidder. The Dems are guilty of more guberment regulation, more taxes, and an abundance of lawsuits via Dem supporting trial lawyers. This "helps" businesses make the decision to leave and outsource.

#5 careful there that sounds like something a conservative would say. This is not politically correct either. Kerry won't do anything either.

#6 again politically incorrect...only for legal citizens? BTW, I don't look at it as the guberment's duty to provide affordable health care. However, the guberment is more than glad to assume responsibility since the citizens won't.

Both parties have done a good job of keeping a "loyal" following. My gripe is neither will do the right thing. Both have to lie and spin to get people to support them. In addition, they will never point out their own hypocrisy only that of their opponent. I am beginning to think politics is a lot like a professional wrestling match - it's a fixed and staged event and we're the duped fans.

Personally I'd rather have a president who cares more about this country's security than its image. Caring about our image and not wanting to offend anyone got us 19 crazies flying into the WTC. Do you really care what France or Germany, two tired, socialist, former colonial powers, think?

I don't.

During the presidential debates of 2000, BUSH sais he would:

1) leave no child behind
REALITY - STILL 45 MILLION UNINSURED

2) was against nation building
REALITY - TWO BIG SAND DUNES AND A LOT OF DEAD SOLDEIRS AND NAKED IRAQI POWS.

3) going to take us in a new direction , " a uniter and not a divider" as he so aptly said.
Well, Paul O'Neil wrote a book and said he was an idiot
Bob Woodward wrote a book and said he was an idiot
Richard Clarke, who worked for 5 or 6 presidents quit and wrote a book and said he was an idiot.
According to the book of Deuteronomy, let the truth be established by two or three witnesses.

Joe Wilson, former Irag ambassador, had his wife's secret identity revealed by White house staffers at Bush's request.

He also has now written a book and said Bush is an idiot.

So far the best Sean Hannity can come up with is:

a) he owns an SUV

b) here he is standing beside Daniel ortega days before a critical senate vote on funding for the contas.

c) voted against weapons programs that cheney also was against and most or all of these programs never went to a vote and made it out of committee.

What really amazes me is that somehow he thinks he can get crazy arabs to stop killing each other and reverse what it has taken TEN THOUSAND YEARS to develop.
