The lawsuits come when they try to get aggressive and end up going after someone with a legitimate medical issue. Juries would love to hear about how management tried to drag some 64 year old geriatric with a heart problem back into the cockpit to fly their love ones around.
Gotta love that east perspective (the nicest way I could think of putting it). No, the jury would love to hear how all these pilots at one carrier all seemed to become medically unfit to fly at exactly the same time. The case before the jury would be fraud and it woud be a slam dunk.

But you bring up a good point with regard to the pensions. The east pilots wet their pants at the prospect of losing their jobs and voted to give away their pensions in exchange for the priviledge of working for the lowest pay rates in the industry for the rest of their careers. If they were to see their fellow criminal comrades being fired with 17 months left to go and losing everything, they would fall in line as they have in the past, get a fresh set of Depends on and keep snoring across the North Atlantic, grumbling about ALPA, of course.

Sorry, as the eastie refrain goes, you gotta wait your turn. You won't stay junior forever!

It would be hilarious to see Cleary begging the old farts to stop calling in sick while the junior pukes are circling USAPA HQ with torches and pitchforks! All for promising what you knew you could never deliver.

slightly off topic but here's an interesting bit of info

A senior Q-400 Captain at Horizon makes $121 an hour.

A senior East A320/737 Captain Makes $125 an hour.

I would guess that the Horizon CA has much better work rules as well.

There's plenty of opportunity on the west for guys who would do the same thing. Most west guys actually like to fly, though. Probably has something to do with the higher pay, better benefits and work rules.

Oh, and there are only about 30 west furloughees who have not yet been offered recall, and that will probably happen soon.

I do believe there will be a mass exodus out east, but not because of sick bank. Not because of LTD or age 65. The only thing a lot of Easties are holding on to is the Snap Back arbitration. When they lose that, they're going to leave in droves. The East will then see the light and either accept the Nic, or bask in LOA 93 FOREVER!!!

Thats great news. Being that senior East Captains are making commuter wages, we can get rid of Mesa and just use senior East pilots to fill the void...Call it "Mesa East". Being that Mesa probably has better benefits and work rules than "LOA 93" East Pilots, getting rid of Mesa and using East Pilots under "LOA 93" would save the company a mint.

I guess you forgot about the senior guys on the 757/767 and 330 that are making more than $125/hr closer to $165 for the 330.

So it only take 30 years to approach the earning power of a 3 year SWA F/O? Cool. Why aren't more people applying to USEast?
