MEC Unanimously Approves a Tentative Agreement
Roadshows, Membership Ratification to Begin This Month
Today, your MEC unanimously passed a resolution authorizing a four year Tentative Agreement to be sent to you for membership ratification. At the same time they unanimously passed a separate resolution that positively endorses the agreement.

This Tentative Agreement fulfils our Four Cornerstones by improving or protecting our work rules including pay, retirement security, job security and health benefits. Specifically, it improves our work rules, particularly for reserve pilots, and provides double digit pay increases across the board effective on April 1st. It protects our retirement security by providing a number of options for incumbent pilots to maintain or rebalance their retirement plan. For new-hires, the final retirement benefit is replicated. The TA also protects the job security language we already have, and provides affordable health care for you and your families. In short, this contract provides gains for all pilots.

This has been a long process for our pilot group, and it has been your involvement in the section six process and steadfast support for your MEC Officers and staff, Status Representatives, Negotiating Committee and other key committees that has carried us through and allowed us to achieve the TA you will soon be reading. We all offer our heartfelt thanks for that support.

The Tentative Agreement and accompanying summary along with a road show schedule will soon be posted online, with hard copies of the agreement to follow in the mail. Road shows will begin April 22, with voting to begin the following week. We highly encourage our pilots and their families to attend at least one of the road shows and participate in this very important process affecting our collective future.
