I am unsure about the exact percentage of ownership in the new company. I have heard the number 9.7-13.1% depending on future investments by other parties. The pie piece got a whole lot smaller when AWA came to the table. It did however retain us one seat on the new board of Directors, after emergence and merger is completed.

US Air 190 flying will be going to Republic. Air Wisconsin is too costly (ie dropped by United) so I wouldn't count on any of that flying for you guys. Besides, CHQ just ratified a new J4J with Airways to staff the 190's.

Dude what is it with you guys. Awac has a shot at those planes as well. I am sorry we are too expensive. We should come down to your level so we might have a chance for more flying. I just don't understand you chq guys on here. You almost seem happy that we were dropped by united. Anyway awac is a good company to those new guys welcome, I hope you like it here.

Same with UAL and MESA (seen their stats lately? On time <50% completion lowest by far etc) UAL aren't happy at all but they went for cheapest even after being bitten by MESA years back.

No we haven't seen these stats, why don't you post them for us to see? Why would UAL give Mesa an additioal 30 CRJ's if they were that unhappy with there flying? -Bean

One word, BANKRUPTCY. UAL isn't making all its own decisions under bankruptcy. Any new contracts have to be approved by the bankruptcy judge and it's impossible to rationalize paying a high quality airline more money to do a better job when all that matters right now is saving money. You may notice that all Mesa's contracts have been signed since the bankruptcy. Not a single one prior to that. Mark my words. Mesa won't likely get any new UAL flying after they exit bankruptcy. If they do exit, I wouldn't be a bit suprised to see AWAC flying for United again in a few years. You get what you pay for and United knows that as well as any other airline who contracts with Mesa. Nothing against the pilots there. I know quite a few of them and they're good people. But you can't argue that the airline isn't run as a cheap and shoddy operation.

Will someone PLEASE tell Jay Lachenburg at Air Wisky that my test results came back positive!

Sorry bro

I heard a RUMOR that the management guy over at United that was responsible for getting rid of AWAC has been "let go". I don't know any names, I was just wondering if anyone else has heard this?

Awac owns 15.1% of the new Usair with one seat on board. We are the second largest share holder. pre merger we own 29% of Usair with 3 seats on the Board.

Does anyone know how long a newhire can expect to sit reserve at AWAC? How senior is PHL?

Very hard to say...personnally I can't imagine it being that long, but with the transition to the east coast it may be longer that it technically should be due to the company keeping extra reserves to cover holes in the schedules. Just a guess ...my crystal ball was knocked of the table by a RAH pilot who saw his future.

All E-190 flying will only be done by mainline. The AWA/US MEC's and company agreed to that last week in a new transition agreement. They also will allow up to 93 CRJ900 or smaller at express.

"All E-190 flying will only be done by mainline." Finally! Someone is keeping those planes where they are supposed to be.

Thanks. I'm looking at making a career change from GA to the airlines, 135 one or two days a week isn't working. PHL is a one-leg commute so Air Wisconsin would be a perfect fit, assuming I could hold PHL.

PHL reserve would be possible as a new hire. A bunch of us from the new hire class in august were awarded it in training.

How hard is to get based out of ORF. I live in the Virginia Beach area. Do they take that into consideration? I am about to shoot my resume in. Hopefully 930tt and 180multi will make it happen.

HA!! Don't think they really would care where you lived. Just prove to them you are trainable.

ORF is almost a guarantee.

Anyone know what kind of times their looking for?

to those that recently interviewed or got hire by Air wisconsin..How long did it take for them to call or email for an interview from the time u sent your resume?....
And for those that work there can you give me some insight about being a reserve FO? QQL?

I think the fact that mainline secured the EMB-190 but essentially did not care about the CRJ900, it goes to show which is the superior product... not that it wasn't a debate in the beginning.

I am happy to see mainline is securing these 100 seat jets... I guess DAL and Airways have both done this with recently agreements, is that correct? Where does UAL stand?

Dumbest thing I've seen a pilot group do in a while. THEY SHOULD HAVE SECURED ALL 90 SEAT FLYING. Mark my words, they screwed themselves by just getting the E190.

Care to expand on what the future holds Nostradamus.

They probably didn't get the 900 flying probably partly because Mesa is already flying nearly 40 of them for pennies for HP.

Sure... in the 3 years that they are waiting on the Ejets to show up, the Express side of the house is going to ramp up another 93 airplanes flying 90 seats.

That flying COULD have been kept at mainline if they negotiated the size of an aircraft and not the type. A 90 seater is a 90 seater, I don't care where they hang the engines or where the carry-ons ride!!!!

Here's some facts that should help you out:

38 CRJ900 flown by mesa currently
27 E170 flown by REP/MDA currently or soon to be
28
CRJ900/E170 to be flown by someone
--------
93 total

28 planes is whats coming, not a great thing but could have been a lot worse.
Air Wisc will probably see something out of this, a 1 for 1 exchange for 50 seaters maybe.

I'm #3 from the bottom and was awarded my first choice - ORF. People in my class who wanted PHL got it as well. DCA went more senior, I don't think anyone in my class got it. My instructor is a CRJ captain with 6 years and they are a captain in DCA on reserve.

Your times are very competitive. You'd get a call for sure.

I plan on sending it in in the next week or 2. Finishing up some hour building in a twin. Do they grill your logbooks pretty badly or do the check all the endorsements and the hours check out?

I took mine along for all the good it did, they never even asked to see it but you never know! Have it filled out just incase.

If you're even considering showing up to an interview with a sketchy or incomplete logbook because you don't think it's important, save yourself the trouble and don't bother showing up. If you can't be bothered to bring in a neat logbook with accurate data, how can the company expect you to be diligent in your work when you get here?
