I spent a year and a half there as a DC8 F/O. Great bunch of guys and gals.Real variety of flying to chose from ,too. From domestic hub flying out of TOL flying the Burlington Air Express runs domestically to overseas runs for the miltary out of Dover,McGuire and Travis. Not to mention the ad hoc charters. They did a pretty good job in keeping the airplanes in decent shape, although the -63's we got from Kalitta left much to be desired in that regard. I had one precautionary engine shut down as a crewmember while I was there and not suprisingly it was on one of the Kalitta birds. I think they recently added some ex-Emery -73 Series aircraft to the fleet. Overall it wasn't a bad deal as far as non-skeds go. As a matter of fact I would venture to say it was one of the better ones out there, given what I know about that segment of the industry. Sometimes I kind of wish I were still there.......

Good info. Is it true about the trips being 15-16 days long?

Any Calls Lately?

Has anyone received any calls for an interview since Friday?

Re: " Is it true trips are 15-16 days long"

Yup ...at least it was when I was there. Keep in mind, though, that since I left, they ratified their first contract with the company so that may or may not
have changed.....

Any dispatch jobs opening? They sent me an app as well after a sent them my resume, I have not seen this done on some time, does this mean they may have openings in dispatch? Or is this just to get me in the file cabinet?

Is there flight operations in LIT?

Bummer

Yeah, me neither. I was definetly hopeful. Good luck to all who did get calls.

I noticed a few ATI's DC-8F's have been retrofitted with the newer engines while the combo's haven't. Is ATI going to upgrade the combo's to the newer engines?

The jigs used in the manufacture of the pylons burnt in a fire in Waco, Tx back in the eighties. (The company was called Gammacorp.) There will be no more CFM-repowered DC-8's.
