I spent a year and a half there as a DC8 F/O. Great bunch of guys and gals.Real variety of flying to chose from ,too. From domestic hub flying out of TOL flying the Burlington Air Express runs domestically to overseas runs for the miltary out of Dover,McGuire and Travis. Not to mention the ad hoc charters. They did a pretty good job in keeping the airplanes in decent shape, although the -63's we got from Kalitta left much to be desired in that regard. I had one precautionary engine shut down as a crewmember while I was there and not suprisingly it was on one of the Kalitta birds. I think they recently added some ex-Emery -73 Series aircraft to the fleet. Overall it wasn't a bad deal as far as non-skeds go. As a matter of fact I would venture to say it was one of the better ones out there, given what I know about that segment of the industry. Sometimes I kind of wish I were still there.......

Good info. Is it true about the trips being 15-16 days long?

Any Calls Lately?

Has anyone received any calls for an interview since Friday?

Re: " Is it true trips are 15-16 days long"

Yup ...at least it was when I was there. Keep in mind, though, that since I left, they ratified their first contract with the company so that may or may not
have changed.....

Any dispatch jobs opening? They sent me an app as well after a sent them my resume, I have not seen this done on some time, does this mean they may have openings in dispatch? Or is this just to get me in the file cabinet?

Is there flight operations in LIT?

Bummer

Yeah, me neither. I was definetly hopeful. Good luck to all who did get calls.

I noticed a few ATI's DC-8F's have been retrofitted with the newer engines while the combo's haven't. Is ATI going to upgrade the combo's to the newer engines?

The jigs used in the manufacture of the pylons burnt in a fire in Waco, Tx back in the eighties. (The company was called Gammacorp.) There will be no more CFM-repowered DC-8's.

I called and talked to the HR person, she said the CP has called everybody he wants for an interview. Oh well...I too was hopeful, an application usually is a sign of interest...

Today, Feb. 5, late in the afternoon, ATI reposted their ad for FO's. What do you suppose this means...didn't get enough takers first time around ?Flying the DC8...pretty cool. Crank up the fax machines, Boys.

650,

aviationcareer.com. Just checked...still there...new today...honest !!

Makes You Wonder

Makes you wonder about those of us who put in our apps and received no phone call.

No joke... It seems we all come from varied backgrounds too... I'm confused!

Most of the time these employment sites scam these jobs from other sites, and of course they are posted at times when the company isn't really hiring. Planejobs, climb to 350, and apparently aviationcareers all do the same thing. I remember a couple of years ago when hiring was almost non-existent and some of the regionals still had pilots furloughed, these sites were posting positions for companies not in any position to hire. From what I have gathered by talking to ATI's hr department, they don't want resumes unless the job is posted on "their own" webpage.

Maybe So....

TK, you might be right, however, the posting that ATI put up 2 weeks ago was not on their website, another site. I applied and received a call from HR within 5 minutes of my resume being sent to let me know an app was on its way. The ad that is being reposted is different from the original ad. Different wording and so forth. Not trying to start a peeing contest, just stating what I know regarding them.

Fly Safe.

I first saw the posting on Planejobs.com, then I went to airtransport.cc and saw the posting for 5 DC-8 F/O's... I sent my resume via e-mail to Sandra.

To those to got the interview... let us know how it went.

Maybe Bafanguy owns that website and needs more business.
Sorry,dont flame me.

LOL !! Don't own it but it'd have to be better than my current gig : aging vacuum cleaner driver/boytoy who does laundry.

I think TK is right about the posting being a scam. I emailed aviationcareer.com about the ATI posting and never had a reply.
I noticed they had another corporate job listing below it that was on another site 2-3 weeks ago.

Congratulations!!! Do you know how many people they actually interviewed?

Does anybody have any new info about these guys? Talked to HR today and They are not accepting applications and don't keep anything onfile.

They didn't say anothing about the future, just "Watch the website"

Does any body know if/when they are going to be hiring next?
