That's cool that you've always believed that. Have you believed that since you were a kid? Pretty cool. Maybe it's not about money and they fact they want to work? Why is it that most multi-millionaires in business work through 65? Because they really like what they do (maybe most hate their wives as most pilots seem to do).

Jonjuan, it's about the money. It's always been about the money, there's no other reason for it. To think otherwise is incredibly naive.

As far as the party, I hear they're offsetting the cost with catering from Luby's Cafeteria, but dinner has been moved to 4:30 PM sharp to take advantage of the early bird special.

Vetrider: Very well put. Of course there's one difference, 5 years less retirement. These guys don't care, they won't admit it but they want to fly till they die.

Seems many have misplaced anger. They want to blame the president of AAPAD or Prater at ALPA....but so far nobody...not one...has mentioned his congressional representative.

Nobody seems to want to discuss having their congressperson voted out of office over this age change.

the cold, hard truth is...with a 390-0 vote tally, either your congressperson voted "Yes" or they didn't vote at all.

"Unanimous Consent" in the Senate kinda says the same thing.

How about it? All the lobbying in the world can't change a thing without a vote in your ( or our) favor.

Maybe getting your congressperson voted out of office is like recalling John Prater....ain't gonna happen....

Why? Because it is hard work to get that done.

Which is interesting because the majority of the memberships behaves as if we live in a dictatorship, soicalist or communist form of representation....
