I see no new pay raises in a new 9E contract.

Then you must be blind. You can count on significant pay raises in their next contract.

Considering we had no contract for 4 years under bush, I think I can give Obama a few months to get settled in. His new appointee has not even begone her post yet has she?

No, not yet. She should be confirmed by the Senate within the next 60 days or so.

Any raise they get at this point will be meaningless since inflation will have eroded its purchasing power to the point it is a concession.

But heck who would expect a Socialist to understand how money works.

Funny. Since it is the "capitalists" who made sure we did not get a raise for the last FIVE years.

That's funny. You can actually make a statement like that with a straight face? Please enlighten the rest of us on when you are due for a new contract. How many years has it been. The pilot group has been saying the new contract is "right around the corner" for years now. Guess what? It's already Spring in 2009. NO CONTRACT! The Pinnacle Pilot group should be more worried about actually getting a new contract soon and not worried about pay raises. If there is no contract soon, the crap is gonna hit the fan with Daddy Delta.
Stand firm. No contract and no jobs is better than a sub par contract. Right?
Let's see how strong the Gulfstream Academy Pilot group really is. Don't forget, those are guys are voting too. Scary!!!

I don't ever remember hearing "the contract is right around the corner" when I was there.

Some progress was made every once in a while, but it was never promised to be just around the corner. The pilot group has gotten more and more stubborn in regards to wanting more pay raises... no more is second year pay for non-gulfstreamers 56 dollars an hour due to quick upgrades. Now everyone is getting to "enjoy" the 24 dollars an hour for second year pay. I think you'll end up seeing something at least at industry average as far as payrates are concerned.

I absolutely agree with the "lifer' effect over there, though. They want to do anything it takes to keep the flying, or whatever their justification is.

I agree.

Certainly there was a point in the past 4 years we thought it was getting "oh so close" with those knucklehead on the other side of the mahogany table, but somehow we retreated to our side. And then mgmt sent out those eloquently ambivalent Fedex overnight letters to our families explaining how our union was holding our future back by sabotaging our careers, blah blah blah... rinse and repeat, and that's the summary of the past 4 years.

Like peanuckle, i'm getting more worried about the "lifer" scenario, with the economy in the shape it is, mother D is breathing down on their necks, no hiring on the horizon, those 5-10 years longevitiy CA who enjoy a decent 16 days off, live in base qol might get "tempted" to vote on any TA, and that's a bad idea. BTW, who's at the union's neg. table currently? Still the same original team or has it been changed? It's been a while.

Please explain. In detail. So that when you are wrong again it is more obvious.
Hey SMARTAS$, where have you been. Daddy Delta has no use for an airline lingering without a contract. That thing should have been signed yesterday. You guys better move fast. Times ticking away.

What part of the NMB do you not understand? Telling us to hurry is pointless. We do not control the pace of negotiations. That is controlled by the company and a corrupt republican NMB. The one thing that we could do is a work slow down. I think it should have been done 3 years ago. But there are to many here that won't fight.

Outside of a work slow down, what do you suggest we do to "move fast"?

Don't start spouting that NMB Republican B.S.
Do you want me to name the companies that went on strike during the Bush Administration. That argument isn't even close to valid.

You are definately right when you suggest that the pilot group is weak when it comes to this area. But from what I understand, almost 75% of the issues with the mediation board are settled. Leaving only 7 or 8 more to go. Maybe you'll have a new contract in May or June.
When have I heard that before?

You can name all you want. None are recent, and WE have not been released after 4 plus years. The recent republican NMB was not about to ever release us. To say that republicans don't hate labor and favor management in labor disputes is just ignorant.

I have a pretty good idea why YOU want us to strike illegaly.

Sure, go ahead and name the airlines that went on strike during the last 2/3 of the Bush administration.

SEVEN is a dolt. Not even worth your time.

Word of the Day

SEVEN is a dolt. Not even worth your time.

Wow! Havn't heard that one in a long time. Ladies and Gentlemen, PCL_128 has the word of the day.

DOLT

doesn't surprise me.....typical name calling is the last resort when you can't articulate an argument. You would make a great liberal.
