My unemployment claims have been denied until late April, apparently because of the "furlough allowance" that we received. Haven't been able to get any information about whether or how to appeal this. Anyone else have a similar experience?
XSPUD, When were you furloughed and what state did
you file in? I was furloughed Jan 14 and filed in Ohio.
I had several conversations with the unemployment
folks and they said this furlough allowance had not
been categorized by ABX and did not get UC benefits
until March 18, 6 weeks after compensation ceased
from ABX. At this point I received 5 weeks of UC in
one deposit. I thought this issue was settled, guess
not. You should get all your back UC benefits at some point

I was furloughed Feb 16 and I filed in Ohio.
The UC determination said I wouldn't receive benefits until April 18, so it sounds like my experience will be similar to yours. Good to hear that I might get back payment at that point.

This is absolutely hilarious! Maybe there is something managed poorer than ABX.
I was furloughed Jan. 14 and did not receive UC until March. I also called and talked to the UC people. They were kind enough to tell me that ABX did not have to classify our "furlough allowance" as income, but they did and that delayed our UC by 6 weeks, or so. It also delayed ABX having to pay into the UC fund for 6 weeks...
I have received my 1 check per week since.
I talked to guys that immediately received UC, some that were asked to pay money back and others like myself that were delayed.

What angles would that be? What about the end
around play with DHL? Is that even possible?
I am not even sure what the union's proposal
is at this point. What changes have there been
in the unions severance proposal since Dec Jan
time frame if any. What if they never reach an
agreement, DHL keeps the 75 mil. I have found
out the severance money, if paid, will not have
any unemployment paid so far deducted, due to
a timeliness clause in the unemployment rules
concerning severance.

What about some patience?

The problem is that these are the same angles that we have been "patient" on for the past year. Some of the issues have been longer than a year. Quite honestly, your be patient comments come off as a bit condesending to those of us on the street.

Do you play poker with your cards all face up? What I am saying is there is more to come.

Hope so. But, we have heard it before.
I guess we're reluctant to get our hopes up too much. Some good news would be nice though.

What about some patience?
Some of our creditors are not quite as patient as
you seem to be. Correct me if I'm wrong but I get
the feeling you are not furloughed. The tone and
substance of the last hotline message does not sound
very promising concerning the severance issue. If
there is some secrete strategy or good news that is not
being discussed publicly great, but I don't get that vibe.
