My experience with the 1-26 to 103 was that the 103 felt like I was driving a dump truck compared to the little ole SGS 1-26. I has more mass, therefore more momentum to deal with, seemed "heavy" on the controls. There are days when the little 1-26 seems to do better than the 103 thermal wise...
As I understand it, and please tell me to STFU if I am wrong, but the actual number on the jet is irrelevant. It can be changed fairly quickly to whatever number they need. Same with the Thunderbirds. I thought I saw somewhere that the Thunderbirds squadron actually has 12 F-16s at any one...

Well we can't even get the PD folks to give us a solid number as to what will be competitive, and we see them just about every day going to or from lunch. Honestly I don't even think they know themselves.
