That's an option.. I use regular foam plugs that come with the headsets.. that works well (for me).. If you ever used regular yellow ear plugs and they worked fine.. you don't need to make a trip to the audiologist.
Generally, I liked it... after a few min, you don't even notice you are wearing 'em..

Based on the criteria mentioned, you can't go wrong with an RV. But before you start, make sure you have enough time etc to build one.. it's a BIG commitment.

What Axel says IS true.. for as long as you stay within manufacturers limits (or fly a plane with a barber pole.. or EFIS where computer performs same function).
It would NOT be true if you took a C-172...
It is TAS... not IAS.
What seems to be disregarded in some of these answers is sure you can use IAS if that will keep you within airplane's envelope.. or if it doesn't, they put a barber pole...
