Astra's certainly look like they would fit the role well. However, couldn't find one in my hasty research for less than $5 mil. Lots of other aircraft for $2 million less.
Acquisition is a big factor in the bottom line. Lots of (relatively) cheap Citation III's out there in the $3.5 range. We are in the west, a lot of Jackson Hole and Sun Valley. I know the III's are very field limited, but given their low price, would it make a descent charter? Is there something...
I know this isn't a job listing site, but we found a good pilot last year this way, so I thought I would try it again.
C-414 pilot for 135 operator in SE Idaho. We do air attack for Forest Service and BLM, and also air ambulance. There is also some charter on the aircraft.
Good company that is...

I think Daveman hit the nail on the head. Everyone not at Delta watches this forum not because we think we'll be hired this year, but because it all flows down hill. Delta furloughs, Delta recalls, we are all affected. Hope those retirees enjoy their RV-4s and fishing trips because they...
Recalls?
Will this have any effect on recalls? And what is the status of recalls? Heard Feb. would not have a recall class. Don't mean to change the subject, just curious.
Air Attack
Air Attack is flying contract aircraft on fires for the Forest Service or BLM. The term comes from Air Tactical Group Supervisor, which is the government employee who rides in the right seat. He uses FM radios to direct tankers to drop sites (only little ones this year) and...
We just had one of our summer air attack guys lose his medical. We are now looking for a replacement. Requirements are 1500 PIC, 1200 Fixed Wing, and 200 Catagory and Class (multi-engine)in the last 12 months. Someone with 400 series Cessna and/or AC-50 time is preferred. It is exciting work...
Just a little more info. The job requires 200 multi, 100 of which needs be in the last 12 months. This is a government requirement. However, if you are close, the comany will get you 25 hours in the AC-50 to meet the time in type requirement.
I did it a couple of summers ago, and it is...
Not any kind of expert info, but had a guy on the field flying in a similar situation, though a little more vague. Anyway, LONG story short, the "owners" were sending all kinds of passengers with him, and caught the interest of the FAA. They couldn't get him on that matter, but they started...
Any body still have last June's Pro Pilot Salary Survey? If so, please post average salary for 135 operations in B-200 and C-550, both Captain and FO.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!!

Sorry to interrupt the ranting with info about the original post, but there is also a 135 op called Nie planes based at Boise Executive that flies a LR35. Don't think they are looking, but if you're already qualed, and in the area.
First time caller, long time listener.
What are Citation 550 pilots making? Also, what kind of insurance requirements for PIC?
Got the type under SOE, but still fighting with insurance.
