I don't believe this affects the NJA side - just the NJI side. NJI pilots have been training (in the sim) the special proprietary ASE approach for a long time now - one that was developed specifically for the GIV and GV at great expense to NJI. If implemented, it would have allowed NJI...
I've airlined 3 legs since the UK issue - and we must check our bag if it has any liquid or gel - so DOP kits certainly qualify. I do see the airline crews with their normal bags past the security point however. I'm trying to figure out how to equip my DOP kit with non-liquid, non-gell stuff...
About four and two . . . 450's and 550's are the only planes being purchased and will replace the IV's and V's eventually . . . No
I came from a Lear to a IV - and not only does it look different - but G names things differently as well. Initial is work! (know what a nutcracker is?)
Dr. Applegate is excellent in Marysville. Must have appointment - and even though they tend to make appointments a bit distant in the future - if you push they'll get you in quickly. He has a great attitude and is efficient at getting you in and out.
Does anyone know if the WAAS upgrade to 430/530's will include airways? if so, it will be a better unit from the user-friendly point of view than the 480. Obviously it will have VNAV.
RE: the inputs to the MX20 - don't discount the EX500 from Avidyne - I have it and I see traffic, radar...
I fly both heavy jet and C310 - and typically, at low altitudes, we get direct or just VOR fixes as part of our flight plans -(compared to high altitude clearances) and rarely have to get a chart out for airway fixes. Just my experience. I'm not putting down the 480 - would probably do it if...
You can find button down collars SHORT sleeves a couple places - but Landerwood is the only one with LONG sleeve button down collars. The shirts are the best available!
FWIW, I'm so attached to button down collars that I took the Commanders supplied by my company and had buttonholes and...
I have the larger 1400 series Motion Computing with JeppView - and it is great - but would get the LS800 now that it's available - it's the perfect size.
In addition to having airways in the database (important only to high-altitude pressurized folks) it also has the ability to serve as the remote control head for a remote transponder - saving panel space. Originally the GNX 80 could channel a remote transponder but not a Mode S remote...
Needless to say, getting hired at NJI is not as easy as NJA - but Gulfstream time is not always required. As they say, they're looking for a few good people! and any 'good' position takes a lot of 'effort' to get!
Good things do come to those who wait . . . . but only those things left...
The big picture is simple - the laws of economics and supply-and-demand always rule in the end. Why do you think NJI is profitable and NJA is not? Why do you think NJI has so many applicants? Why do you you think NJI folks always have a smile on their faces? It's not that complicated!
