    Jetblue's new PEA

Not that I disagree with any of the above opinions. I have to ask. Why hasn't there been another union vote? How with all the bad I see on these boards could you not want to at least send in a card for a vote? How many cards are currently in? Is it even close to being enough to start the process?

Virgin America To Launch New Flights To Newark Liberty International Airport

That was before EWR went slot controled in '08 I believe. They can still move stuff around but why bother. The O&D between the pairings are quite high. A couple hundred passengers one way or another isn't gonna make that big of a diff. And from a pricing stand point I don't see us dropping the...

Study Concludes That Jetblue Pilots ARE Affraid Of Their Own Shaddows

I'm in no way anti union. I've been an alpa member for 13 years of my carrier. But I always find it comical when pro union folks spout off about holding up the profession and supporting our brother and sisters. Then the industry takes a turn for the worst and we all can't cut each others throat...

    Virgin America Classes.

Increase of block flying for winter schedule and a need for more bodies. I guess we under hired a bit this year. Plus theres been a little attrition from medical leaves, one retirement, and a couple guys being recalled to previous carriers.

    Virgin America Classes.

I just spoke with our Recruiter. She said that in Aug interviews will begin again. Trickle hiring for the rest of the summer from the existing pool of candidates. Hiring for next year will be intermittent. Five scheduled for delivery next year. Then in 2014 1 a month till 2019.

How many pilots and flight attendants are being furloughed?

    V.A. call back

It is an unfortunate practice that they have been doing at VX for years. The pilots are really unhappy as to how the recruiters treat applicants here. Unfortunately flight ops management has been able to make no progress in getting a better process enabled. I know several of us are bringing the...

    Thread Hijacks and Airline Bashing

I am so glad that there is finally someone trying to tone down the worthless stuff that happens around here. This is a discussion forum not a political talking box for personnel vendetta issues. Some of these threads always turn into the same two argumenitive idiots slinging the same mud over...

    Virgin America Revenue...

Maybe we should just delete this thread and star a fresh one. It been pages since this conversation made any sense. Thank you moderators for stepping in. Some people really do want to have civil conversations around here.

    Virgin America Revenue...

Seriously, Is there even moderators on these threads? Every VX thread turns into the same crap. Can't we just make a fubi/NE thread so the rest of us can have adult conversations in peace?

    Virgin America

I'll help Fubi out with some facts. Alaska started flying in 1932 depending on whether you count the McGee Airlines name or only when it officially became Alaska Airlines In 1944. The pilots unionized in 1947 joining ALPA. SO Virgin is either a year behind Alaska or won't catch up to them for...

Still think we're better off without ALPA?

If ALPA is such a distastful idea. Which I happen to agree with. Why not start a drive for your own internal union? As I understand the process there is no cool down required between union card votes. Of course I am no expert.

    Virgin America QOL?

On the FO side Dulles is going junior. Not even all of the trips available are getting picked up. They then get broken up into SFO flying. I sit around the 50% mark on the FO list and sat Reserve for about 4 months. Even since then I have been awarded 18+ lines unless I choose to fly more...

    Virgin

Seriously, Just ignore them. Everytime you respond to fubi and the rest you just make it harder for people looking for real, factual information about Virgin to dig through all of the B.S. If they want to be children let them start there own thread for that purpose. Stay off the ones where...

VX Rolls Out Water-Bottle Refill Stations

Actually, the intent was to go public at VX from day one. In fact they they wanted to do it sooner. But high oil prices and the '08 slowdown has delayed that. New estimates are putting IPO in two to three years.

VX Rolls Out Water-Bottle Refill Stations

You gotta give the pr department some credit. Always keeping the name in the press through crazy cheap means. Little free press releases like this get a lot of circulation on the west coast. Making money or not its good stragety.

Virgin America Reports First Quarter 2011 Financial Results

I am probably trying to be overly optimistic. But, I try and concentrate on the improvements on the top line. Last year we had a 32% increase in revenue on only 17% increase in capacity. This first quarter, we continued to improve on that over our competition in the industry. Our system load...
