    Single Representation at SWA/AirTran

It never gets old! Play it again Sam.

    SWA earnings

Just wanted clear up a rumor I heard that goes something like: SWAPA created a pay rate for the 717, SWA isn't parking the 717, you can stay on the 717 to infinity and beyond. SWAPA will do it because they are weak and are due for concessions, blah blah blah This should also put cold water on...

    SWA earnings

http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/southwest-airlines-reports-record-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-profit-41st-consecutive-year-of-20140123-00329 "We are on track with our AirTran integration, achieving approximately $400 million in annual net pre-tax synergies in 2013, as planned. Since 2011...

    Single Representation at SWA/AirTran

Say we stick with ALPA, no change in day to day life. Say we switch to SWAPA, no change in day to day life. I can see why this isn't burning up cockpits or forums.

    SWA MDW Meltdown

Wave, you just made a lightbulb turn on. I always thought PNCL was trying to fast track and missing the boat at every turn. I now realise that he is an ALPA guy. ALPA is most valuable to pilots under bad management. It all makes sense now. He has been searching for a trademark body of work...

FI: When will we drop the pilot?

I was wondering about litigation. When a plane crashes is it a defective product and do I get to sue Boeing? Pilot error made a handy dodge for everyone. I was also wondering about third world travel. Europe and the US might get the proper infrastructure but what about South America...

Leave SWA for AA or Delta?

LUV got some LGA slots. HOU international terminal, Fingures crossed on DCA. I have been using zero growth on myseniority, might be time to change that. 18 year upgrade here I come! To all that want to leave SWA, if you need help updating logbooks, filling out online Apps, etc. PM me I...

    SWA Interviews

Sweet you are talking signing bonuses. I don't know how you did it but you somehow found Tranny captain gold. Ask them about the distribution of the signing bonus on our last contract. Once you pull them out of the ceiling ask them why ALPA decided to do it that way. These guys can go on for...

    Medical fails may climb

Will you guys please get to the comedy of this: 1. Guys on the overnight cutting wait like wrestlers. Running up and down the hotel hallway in trash bags and sweat shirts. 2. Interview: tell me about a time you exercised. Tell me about a time you walked away from a crew drinking and...

    Southwest 3Q profit $241M

Well if you ask an AirTran pilot in recurrent the number is 225 million. We have a guy who has been telling ground school for years that SWA is soooo blown away by our bag fees they will switch to charging. He will then say "when was the last time you saw a bags fly free commercial?" Answer...

    Boeing Unveils Its Jumbo Killer

Cleared for takeoff... Standby we got a light... Is it the unfold your wing light? I have been at two airlines that attempted single engine T/Os and one that forgot T/O flaps. I have forgotten flap retraction coming into the gate and have seen it done a number of times. I think that is the...

    MaxBlast feeling the LUV!

Explain that. Most of us gave up 100% seniority to come to AirTran or SWA. I think we all did it for the money. You can easily buy seniority right now. Apply at Great Lakes and you will be in the top 10% in under 10 years. Why? Because those pilots will all give up 100% seniority for pay...

SWA today like the airline in the book, "Nuts!"?

So what is ALPAs excuse? 5 years of fighting at AirTran and at the end of the day the company was sold and the negotiation wrapped up when management decided. Lets talk about the contract: 1. Caved on scope 2. Industry trailing rates even with a massive FO raise 3. The same reserve system...

SWA today like the airline in the book, "Nuts!"?

SWA does that once a year to remind us how much our contract sucks. Kind of like a reverse rainbow if you like bible stories. When you forget during the rest of the year a quick ready reserve falls out of the sky on a random bucket dweller, classic! Sorry. I meant to say AirTran is the...

SWA today like the airline in the book, "Nuts!"?

Nope. We have 12-14 days off. SWA gave us 15 for reasons I will never understand.

SWA today like the airline in the book, "Nuts!"?

You do realise that management was actively selling the airline during contract talks. They were just stalling because you don't make repairs until after the home inspector and buyer request them. Stop with this "we fought for what we got". You took what management gave you when they were...

    SWA to hire 200

I'm near the bottom of the list and with zero growth I'm a 20 year upgrade. I'm at Airtran and they tell us we will work at SWA one day but that is just a rumor that has been floating around since 2010. Apparently SWA is growing by 200 pilots so my 20 year upgrade is down to 19.8 years! Looks...

    Southwest Wannabe...

Everyone knows that if you want a job at SWA you don't apply at SWA. The interview is a nightmare, higher power type rating is expensive, and it could take multiple attempts to get the job.

New 1500 hour rule first affected

What! Great Lakes was always short pilots. I never understood why. At $16 an hour why wouldn't you want to hand fly a 1900, 8 legs a day! They give you 10 days off a month for a second job what more do pilots want?
