A Unity Fund has been established for our furloughed pilots that will need help with their medical premiums. Those that need the help can access those funds, while others who have spouses with insurance are asked to use that option. When all furloughed are returned, any left over funds willow go...
This provision is in our contract. If UPS decides to contest this, it now becomes a part of the grievance process. If it wasn't in the contract, it would be a legal issue.
Officially, they are there for "repair mapping." FAA has a bug up their rear for paperwork irregularities when these A/C were with their previous owners. Since UPS couldn't prove that certain checks were done over 20 yrs ago, they came to an agreement that this "repair mapping" will be done...
Yes, we can call for a JA/OT ban when a furlough is announced. By putting it in the contract, it now becomes a contractual issue, and not a legal issue.
On Inauguration Day, even Bush admitted that he bumped his head a few times when he first took office. Heck, I've hit my head so many times on overhead panels I've lost count.
Not trying to be a wiseguy, but what is the big deal about this memo? Stuff like this always gets posted. I don't see any trade secrets or anything special.
Before this gets way overblown, this is not quite true. From my understanding, the company sent out an internal memo stating, in a nutshell, that according to their numbers, they are 700 pilots overmanned. To help mitigate possible furloughs, they are invoking a section of the contract that...
Before this thread gets out of hand, there are NO talks of furloughs, or hiring for that matter, at this time. There are many who are SPECULATING that UPS may attempt a furlough, but that is all that it is right now - speculation. I can't say (because I have NO idea) what will or will not...
You are advocating a job action by using up sick time. I believe that is illegal. That contradicts your statement of "I don't advocate doing anything illegal."
This is not good news for MEH pilots. Unfortunately, Timmy has been dragging down this airline for YEARS. The writing has been on the wall for a long time. It comes down to the fact if you wanted to see the signs. I truly feel for you guys, having been a two-time victim of the cookie palace...
I agree with all of these guys. It happened to me at Midwest during my 1st furlough. As I was turning in my ID on the day of my furlough, there were pilots picking up opentime at the same time! I don't see this ever changing.
Just for that mister, you're under arrest! You have the right to remain silent! (might think about using it)
There, I feel like Barney Fife!
Listen, I've said my peace. All this stupidness over 1 post. I'm sorry that you are so worked up over this. Again, this was not made public until wabi brought it up. You guys started this.
And do you post about every single thing that pisses you off? If so, you need to let some of that stuff go. If an ATA pilot had posted that here, Then I say he is fair game. But you are the one who posted a remark made by someone on a private message board that you aren't even a part of...
Hey wabi,
Why don't you give it a rest? I don't see any ATA pilots on here complaining about that charter. YOU are the one bringing it up. Are you trying to stir up crap, because it sure looks like it to me. What ATA pilots talk about on THEIR private message board is their business - not...
