EWR Concourse C is my least fav. I drink my World Bean Cibo coffee, then need a safe haven for relief. No luck, only 3 crappers per "wing". Always a line, frustrating as hell.
MSP has the same issues, not enough stalls for the morning push.
Best: ORD or DTW.
Least Known: LGA Delta...
No, it's not hard to do the job to the absolute minimum level.
But like most things in life, most pilots are just good enough, some are terrible, and very few are actually great.
And blaming "Millenials" just makes you sound like the old guy yelling "GET OFF MY LAWN".
Bright for a short while, but within the next decade the Regional Wheel of Fortune will stop at bankruptcy and another company will prosper. Thus the irony of having stars in your logo will be complete.
Trying to have a reasonable discussion about the schizophrenic world in which we operate is pretty much impossible. EVERY airplane for EVERY departure has something that can be written up. Just like the FAA likes to do a C-check at the gate and begin discovering items most pilots rarely even...
Commute to an outstation base for a line? No! Early show, late finish, not worth it at all.
Commute to a hub city, worth considering if you're crew planning department doesnt such and actually builds commutable pairings.
However, commuting in theory is always different than the realities...
Nobody at RAH has even mentioned a peep about Q400's here, its all outside speculation. But this is the airlines, who knows what managment will pull off next so pilots can go blame each other...
Its still too early to make a prediction. Rest rule effects still aren't known, the ATP rule is still a possibility, and of course oil prices could ruin any benefits of ~100 seaters.
I do think the decade of the 2000's will be an oddball in the history of US airlines, with the explosive 50...
Chq, CA, 135 pay, grossed 58,510. 7 year payscale, less than a skywest FO apparently. Never more than 13days off a month, impossible to drop anything. In other words, don't even think about working for an RAH carrier. Our soft pay rules are worse than the actual pay scale.
All of the older people in my extended family couldn't wait retire from thier normal jobs, no idea why pilots want to work forever. Smart people too, one was an engineer, nuclear plant maintenence tech, etc. Maybe it'll be different for me at age 60+, but I don't think pilot behavior in this...
Well, it can't really get much worse since we're already the bottom of the barrel, so to speak. For your sake at F9, I hope there is a separation and you guys get to keep on keepin' on. This whole integration, disolution/replacement of YX, and IMSL has been an awkward situation for many of us...
If I counted right, thats 16 crew bases that have closed in the last 7 years. RAH management - "Cheapest at all cost, invest in nothing". Seriously people, go work somewhere else if you're looking to get into the airline biz.
All good advice in this thread. I've been flying the ERJ for nearly 7 years, and after applying techniques I've learned through research and practical experience, I still think it leaves a lot to be desired. Of course it will paint the obvious storms that will cause damage/injury, and during the...
