    Babysitting the airplane

Hey Canyonblue, Maybe when you get out from under Van De Ven's desk you'll realize SWA isn't as perfect as it is in your dreams. I just talked to a CA who sat with a plane for two hours at the end of his trip. You can't make this stuff up!

American? Alaska? JetBlue? Frontier? Spirit? Just curious if any other majors do this. Thanks for the feedback.

    Babysitting the airplane

Where do you work? Yeah, at the Tranny we left the A/C powered all the time. Grab your bags and go!....unless you're terminating. Often I've seen empty cockpits when I get off the aircraft of other airlines.

    Babysitting the airplane

Another exciting announcement at SWA recently is that they are supposedly going to be getting rid of the requiremt for the pilots to have to pull the gear pins every morning on originators. Thank Gawd! This will put one ridiculous proceedure to bed hopefully. An even more absurd and annoying...

    SWA Removes B737 Type Requirment

They actually said a 737 type would be looked upon favorably and as another "feather in the cap" if you have one. This cracks me up. If it were me doing the selecting I would be wondering if someone who showed up with a type they paid for needs to have their head examined....but that's just me...

    Trannys' "capturing" captain seats

In the latest vacancy award the most junior awarded ATL FO was senior to about 5 ATL Captains. Looks like I'm going to be commuting for quite a while. Wonderful.

    Delta load check

That's not good! Any cities you suggest I get to to get back to the states? There was a transportation strike here and had a bunch if flight cancelations that backed everything up. It could be bad for a few a while. Again, thanks in advance.

    Delta load check

I'm trying to get to ATL from Rome can someone check FCO-ATL on 10/20 for me? Thanks in advance!

    Southwest Training

What transportation options are there for while you're in training. I'm not looking forward to being stuck in Dallas for 60 days without being able to get around town. I'm also not looking forward to driving my car out there. Crappy situation either way. Are people getting rentals while out there?

SW places firm order for 150 737 Max, announced this morning (12-13-2011)

I have heard SWA is retrofitting and strengthening some of the -300s or -500s through heavy maintenance and that they are planning on keeping some of these aircraft. Any truth to this? If so, how many?

    AirTran MEC vote - explained

Sounds good to me. They can have it.
  15. N

    Airtran MEC voted no

Its simple really. Very rarely do different pilot groups agree with the other's side. That's why there is arbitration. We can agree to disagree and have a panel of neutral arbitrators decide what is fair and equitable. Hopefully we will be able to accept that list when it is all said and...
